Default Side scoop looks pretty real to me!

Lots of discussion suggesting the side scoop wasn't real... this looks to be just light camo and the side scoop is very real. But, unfortunately, looks like the brakes are real too

Personally, I like it if that's the final look...

Could be, but I don't think 100% real yet. You can see there are pieces protruding right above where the door handle would be.
Plus the whole rear end and front end still look super fake.

That's what I thought when I saw this pic too. You can see the vertical panel gap running through it, but there still looks to be some extra padding or something along the edge.

Man, that leading edge is going to be a rock chip magnet!

In all the pics GM has posted they say in small writing on the bottom "Camouflaged preproduction model shown. Actual production model may vary. Availability to be accounded at a later date". So definately could still look very different once it is offically revealed.

And what is wrong with the brakes? Steel rotors work just fine, even on the track, solid rotors are better than drilled.

Agreed but those look very small. Smaller than the C7 brakes.

The piece that extends onto the door still looks fake as hell. Looks like a big piece of foam is added to it.

This is the most we've seen to date but there is still some trickery going on. I think the side scoop has some padding in shape distortion in the front and rear bumpers definitely still have some foam.

I know they’ll do a better job on the scoop then I could,
I’ll take it the way they propose it.

I felt like I stole the car when I took early delivery of my C7....tremendous value for a pure bread sports car...
pretty sure the C8 will make me feel the same way.

yes look a little small in diameter but all depends on the weight of the car. Maybe there is a bigger brake options even available base. Will have to see.

I posted multiple times months ago the brakes were a dead giveaway a base car was being tested and it was going to be reasonably priced.

Also those brakes were were on the cars running Nurburgring. That ridiculous thread saying it was running sub 7min with small blank steel rotors.

I race endurance races and even crappy stock brakes on non performance cars car do a lot especially with adequate cooling. Shoot last race one of the entered cars was a cts, like a 2005, which weighed 3900 pounds and the brake rotors nor calipers where an issue since they had big brake ducts. Nürburgring doesn’t seem to be a track that is hard on brakes at all, plenty of time for brakes to cool after any hard braking so I doubt brakes would have been the reason for not achieving sub 7 minutes.

The scoop is still covered with a faux panel and vinyl wrap. Have to leave at least one surprise for the reveal.

I hope so because to me that scoop looks horrendous. it looks like it was added on after the fact rather than being integrated.

Looks like there is still a fair amount of paneling hiding the scoop

I doubt the vent is anything close to the production car. Two reasons, you would not be able to have much ingress and egress as it would limit the opening of the door next to another car or in your garage and it would be a dagger for dings in other cars.

I can't tell where the finger pad is either. LOL
normal door opening or suicide?

Also...the interior looks like it's covered in some kind of sheathing or something...keeping the cockpit a mystery too.

Front wheels look like 20s?

I almost wanna say...the WHOLE rear quarter looks like it's a false panel. Camo covered false panel?

Starting at the leading edge of the scoop...going aft. Maybe the architecture is just a bit different beneath what we currently see.

But then again...if you look at the rear quarter, looks like one big part. Over the rear wheel and also right up to just behind the passenger window. It looks like one piece and no way it could be false. The pics aren't definitive tho...hard to tell.
