The Corvette C8 picture thread....

Well... since we now have an actual reveal date, I would fully expect some teaser vids to start showing up over the next month or so.

+1
I feel like (maybe I should say "hope") this is closer to what the actual side scoops will ultimately look like, once, the (what appears to me to be) extra paneling and the camo is removed.

To each, their own - I just think the renders with the super edgy scoops that come to a point are way overly done, and a bit more subdued/rounded scoop will be much better looking in person, but again, looks are subjective, so...

I don’t think we have seen the Z06 out testing yet. I have a feeling it will be very noticeable.
The C8 picture in post# 101 definitely has rotors that look identical to the vented rotors on the Z51 package. So they are out testing C8’s beyond the base model.

One thing that seems pretty obvious, is there is a faux panel on top of the door "winglet":
And... if that is a faux panel, then I would have to assume that there must also be a corresponding faux panel on the rear quarter panel as well.
Original, before my mark up (which more clearly shows the seam between the real vs faux panels):
In my opinion, there is no way that seam exists on the production model.
And also note that that top ridge line appears to be what might be the faux panel on top of the real panel.

Corvette designers have most people fooled. They took the time to create these panels that attach to the mounting points of the car's frame (along with the rest of the test cars) but I doubt that these are the actual body panels of the production C8. I also doubt that that is the real rear wing. It doesn't make sense that these are the real panels because the actual reveal won't make much of a splash cause even though it is camo'ed, people have already seen the car's shape. I believe that when they take the cover off during the reveal or when it's driven to the stage, we will see a totally different car, much nicer and sleeker than the disguised one. For one thing, the car is bulky. Also, the front end is too high. Tadge is practically sunk in the driver seat and he is straining to see the road ahead. One of the advantages of a mid engine design is a low front end which gives excellent frontal visibility. I believe this will be one of the significant differences between the one that was driven in New York City and the one that will be revealed on July 18th, not to mention the fake side scoops and the ugly rear wing. I just hope that my theory is right because as a Corvette loyalist (C4, 5 & 6), the one we're seeing now is uninspired and quite frankly, not worthy of Corvette's historic change from FE to ME.
ps. hoping it will look like this one below. goodby to my C6 and sign me up!

God no.. that's a horribly photoshopped NSX. Glad the Corvette team is taking the direction they have with the F22 raptor inspired approach.

Everything since then has been 'real panels' even if some of them were rough edged early test pieces. The only question at this point is how much camo padding and fakery is layered on top of them.

On the topic of fake panels to hide the real body details, my vote would be for:
Rear clip - I think there are obvious seams where the fake cladding shows
Sides - I don't really see any indications of cladding so the scoop may be as shown
Front - if any, I would be on front-center grill area
What do you think?

Stunning, looks like the future ZR1/Zora for model year 2024, starting at +$150K.
