2020 Corvette Dealer Program
Today during the monthly GM podcast halfway through it dealers were told if they want to sell the C8 they have until June 7th to enroll in one of two programs to sell the C8 Corvette.
Program One Corvette Dealer
Send one sales specialist to Spring Mountain at a cost of $3,500
Complete all required sales and service training
Purchase Next Gen Corvette specific service tools at an approximate cost of $1,500 for existing Corvette Dealers
Program Two Signature Corvette Dealer;
Comply with the Corvette Participation Agreement
Send one Service Manager/Service Advisor to Spring Mountain
Showcased on Chevy.com as a Signature Corvette Dealer and will be able to merchandise on their dealer website
Additional opportunites
Send additional dealership personnel to Spring Mountain
Potential access to C8 Corvette Mobile Tour
The C8 Mobile Tour will have a C8 Mid-Engine Corvette, and a Corvette expert to answer any questions to assist customers on ordering their own C8
The tour will be at dealers before the C8 goes into production for retail built C8 cars.
The dealership that I work for signed up to be a Signature Corvette Dealer and we also signed up for the C8 Mid-Engine Tour Truck
We are in. Participated in the Spring Mountain Training last time. I as the dealer and my wife, Kathy as the Specialist. Planning on the same again this time.
Truck cost - $16,000 one day, $25,000 for two
Regarding the Program One Corvette Dealer, it seems odd that they want the dealer to send a sales person, but he will get training in sales AND Service.

Matt did you sign up for the truck? Are you going to Manheim Friday?
We signed up for the "Signature Corvette Dealer Program" … Haven't decided on the Corvette mobile tour just yet... They are asking for a lot of money with not that many details on the event, no word on allocation, nothing... Just give us $16,000-$25,000 and we MAY get a car to your store prior to production IF it fits the tour schedule... With that being said I'm sure we'll do it.
Yep, Manheim every Friday. lol.. Will you be there?

Very interested in this. Could any dealers chime in on what this means? Are these tools just dealer diagnostic scan/reset tools, or are they specialty wrenches, bits, sockets, jigs, etc? If the latter, I'd be interested in getting my hands on a set asap however that may be possible. If anyone has any information about these I'd be highly interested in hearing more

They are probably a few simple tools like the ones required for the C7. For example the C7 rear caster adjustment requires an adapter tool that mounts to the rear knuckle and an angle gauge that attaches to the adapter so the rear caster angle can be measured. If they continue to have adjustable rear caster on the C8 those tools may be required for it as well.
$16,000/1 day and $25,000/2 days for an expert to come to the dealer I suspect with a C8 and explain to the dealer and the customers how to order and answer any questions. The dealer must also give his youngest child to GM for collateral the first year of the C8.

It would be nice if they would have more dealers with this tool and techs trained to use them. In Michigan, and around the "motor city" I found exactly one dealer (Mattick Chevy) that knew what the heck I was talking about and would do it for me.

Just because a dealer requests the tour to come to there doesn't mean it will, tour route will be based on dealers volume and location.
If your local store requests the tour and Chevrolet agrees they will be given a date and that date is set in stone and can not be changed.
Tour runs 7 days a week.
Still no word on if this will be at Corvette at Carlisle...
Matt here is what I think about the C8 and Carlisle. Tadge said last week at the bash when we come back on labor day weekend we will have C8 Corvettes? Carlisle is the weekend before and Tadge, Harlan and the rest of that group always leave Carlisle and drive down to BG for the labor day bash. I think you will see several C8's at Carlisle because the car will be unveiled on 7-18-19 and by that time we should see build out on C7 so they are going to have to talk and show the C8?

I’ll even up the ante and predict that along with several, or more C8s they will proudly display a rolling ME Chassis for the Corvette Brethren to inspect. These Corvette Enthusiasts attending Corvettes at Carlisle love to delve deep into aspects of engineering of Corvettes. And I expect Corvette Engineers will happily oblige.

I hope kerbeck or mclaukin or crisswell would have such a tour date announced on the forum.
i think id make the 8 hour round trip to see a c8 unveiling date at one of our forum vendors showrooms with enough prior notice if it were prior to carlisle.
maybe we will get lucky ...id like to see what the trip would be like ...because I think once many of us see the car we would be placing our reservation.
i have yet to get on a reservation list since we have literally no information...
i realize waiting makes the car delivery a little later but knowing what Im ordering sort of makes sense

You know what, I’ll even up the ante significantly more if history repeats itself at this years Corvettes at Carlisle. Check out this vid of the ‘14 C7s leading the downtown 2013 Carlisle Corvette Parade. I expect a C8 sight to behold this year too. I remember Dave Hill doing the same for the ‘05 C6.
PS, just watched the whole 20:19 of the vid. It was worth it. Thanks Corvette Blogger.
