Care to share a picture of a C8 next to other mid engines cars? Right now we just have a lot of bad picture angles and crappy videos to look at.

a) downforce
b) engine cooling in a mid engined car
c) engine bay cooling

But since there is going to be noone on your rear bumper, you don't need as good a vision towards the rear.

Default Because luggage

To those commenting how the c8 looks less sleek compared to other exotics, try looking at how little luggage space those cars have. The c8, based on comments from some must have daily useability as a primary focus. Exotics do not. In order to create space for luggage or groceries or other cargo styling sacrifices WILL have to made. I personally like what I've seen of the camo'd cars in photos and video. I believe once the camo comes off it will get even better. Will it be as sick looking as a Lambo or Ferrari? Not likely. Will it still be attractive? Yep. Will upscale models with more performance add more agression(it's own form of attractiveness)? I believe they will.

In my opinion this car is even thicker in the back half, but maybe just appearances?
Rear visibility is very poor in these.

My guess, from a comment made by Andy Pilgrim, is it is for golf club storage! Might even hold two bags!

IMO, Andy Pilgrim in an interview that even a GM repeated, was sent to drop hints!

The biggest for all those who don’t care about or know what polar moment of inertia is - he dropped that “an ME leaves room for a FWD hybrid.” I posted the interview several months ago on the Forum.

He didn’t have to bring up the subject but he mentioned room for golf clubs. Golf clubs were not mentioned by the interviewer but he found a way to bring it up! He no doubt knows and probably has driven one..

Just a guess on my part. However storage space is a big question. Even the front looks like the frunk would hold more than a Ferrari 488. And it has almost as much storage as a C7 Vert. If they can add significant storage in the back and if it holds golf clubs could answer a lot of concerns!

I don’t think the rear is that high. The car is low. Thus the rear may look higher.

We we just have to wait until we can see it beside other cars.

Corvette has been asking "do these exhaust tips make my butt look big" since the C4 refresh.

When you slap a flat endcap on the back of a box you're gonna have a big butt, no matter how you embroider the pockets.

Why dont we wait to see the actual production c8 instead of a camouflaged test mule designed to keep the actual c8 looks hidden.

Back on topic, one of my biggest concerns is compromises due to some ridiculous need to carry your entire closet on a weekend trip or haul cinder blocks from Lowe’s. My wife and I take two week trips with two suitcases that easily fit in an airplane overhead.
This is my biggest concern as well.

I’m expecting to see a decent amount of storage space in the back of the car. Kind of like the new NSX. It has a fairly big *** that contains a good size trunk.

To the OP, ... tLegend, ... You have NOT seen the car's true silhouette. I have studied the cars very closely for months, and can assure you GM has been both adding and removing a small (BUT *optically* SIGNIFICANT) strip of foam padding to the rear upper haunches. This is no doubt to obscure as well as create confusion on what the rear end of the car truly looks like. Your post and question proves their effort is working! There appears to be some flaring of the rear quarters that is being obscured as well it appears. I'm confident the car is going to look quite different than what many here expect!

Gentlemen, I have deleted the BS and off topic conversation. Warnings have also been issued.

If we don't stay on topic, Springtime bans will be handed out.

There are so many pictures of this discrepancy, already posted in this forum many times, of many examples. Here's just one...
