Default C8 Coupe & Convertible Reveal - Together or Separately?

The 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe was revealed in Detroit on January 13, 2013, followed by the 2014 Stingray Convertible in Geneva on March 5, 2013. Do you think we'll see a similar reveal of the C8 Coupe and C8 Convertible on separate dates in separate locations, or will GM reveal both this time due to the relatively short time between the reveal and the end of C7 production and major upcoming Corvette marketing events such as Corvettes at Carlisle and the 25th Anniversary Event at the National Corvette Museum, both in August?

What other C8 reveal similarities and difference do you think we'll see compared to the C7 reveal? Check out the C7 Coupe and Convertible Reveal Videos here:

Detroit got moved to June next year. I doubt it.

Maybe LA at the end of November. Especially if the rumors are true about production starting in December.

Coupe on 7/18/19, Convertible at the Pebble Beach Concours.

Every supercar brand is revealing their convertibles after their coupe counterparts, so it makes sense for GM to do the same. A Pebble Beach reveal for the Convertible would provide tons of media and social media coverage. The C8 Convertible would be revealed next to a plethora of supercars, hypercars, and GTs, which would make the C8 seem even better/cooler.

This makes the most sense!

Coupe only on 7/18. GM would miss out on an opportunity to create more buzz and the ensuing sales frenzy that goes along with another model added to the lineup.

C5, C6 & C7 convertibles were very different visually from the coupes, for the coups were hatchbacks. The C8 coupe and convertible are almost same car visually, with the likely exception of the glass over the engine of the coupe. Because of this, I would not be surprised if both cars are at the reveal. Furthermore, since the C8 has been delayed for so long, I think there is a decent chance that they both go on sale at the same time. Just a guess on my part.

I think it will be a hardtop convertible. A press of a button and the hardtop will move and become part of the body. The best of both worlds.

Looking at the second photo, with that square patch on the passenger side rear panel, could that be a port for electrical charging? Hybrid?

On earlier mules that flap had "TCM PORT" written on it which would make one assume it was a quick direct connect to tune the transmission.
