Tadge Juechter- Corvette Cheerleader
Fellow Corvette Fans,
It’s time for a tip of the hat to Tadge Juechter. He is totally dedicated to the success of the Corvette and he listens to the Corvette enthusiast. My assumption is that he reads the C8 forum regularly and he listens. He also did a good job of not looking terrified as a passenger when Jay Leno did 200 m.p.h. + in a ZR1 at the Milford Proving Grounds.
THANKS to Tadge and his staff for making the mid-engine Corvette a reality. Only 16 more days...….

The word "ignorant" in my post isn't used as in a pejorative; rather as a statement meaning: "not knowing something". There are, unfortunately, a number of fairly ignorant folks here on CF when it comes to the issues facing an engineer at GM. More so when it comes to the VLE/Chief Engineer. These issues are generally in the form of compromises required to meet expectation X, cost limits Y, etc. All some folks see are the results of these and if any perceived mistake is made, they instantly lay the blame on the Chief. Without information otherwise, they'll fill in their own blanks and come up with their own story as to "why" and "how" and "who's at fault" (if anyone). Normally these "fill in the blanks" are wrong.
Again: see "ignorant".

Here lies the genius of the Corvette engineers. A high volume, cheap, light and strong chassis that answers to the stock holder. A first in the industry. Ain't America great? Happy 4th, Corvette lovers.

This is his last baby and its going to be a great one! I had the please meeting Tadge at an SAE meeting in Troy Michigan in 2015, when they announced the hp on the Z06 and other features. He was great to talk to even though I was nobody to him, he has total passion for the Corvette and its success. All the best to him in the future!

GM mandatory retirement age is 65. He's been there since 1977. He likely got the job right out of college at 22, so he's very very close.

We'll see just how well the C8 defines his vision. And legacy.

Have to say that all the chief engineers on the Corvette platforms were all great.
If they weren't the Corvette would have been discontinued long time ago.

IMHO some do not understand the difference between agreement/disagreement and respect. I suppose that will come with time and experience.
By my count Corvette has grown into the most sought after 2 seater sport car in the most competitive market for sports cars in the world. Sales superior to both sports cars costing double but also 2 seaters considerably cheaper than the corvette. Market bullseye center.
Agree/disagree, whoever got the car in that enviable market position to include to a great extent Tadge, has earned it's chops by delivering a product unquestionably in demand. Forum posts notwithstanding...

Positive thread. Great, thanks. Corvette, the best car in the world by far. I took my preacher to a show at a local Chevy dealer and he had tears in his eyes. He said that he can feel all the love.

from my local track (PBIR):
- All cars 9.99 or quicker in 1/4 mile must have engine diaper plus an IHRA or IHRA license (engine diaper does not need to be certified).
- All Sport Compact cars 11.99 or quicker must have engine diaper
