With this, all of the frunk space will be usable.

I don't know how you get a powered Targa top when the leaked order sheet lists "removable dual tops"
Would be cool for those who like it.
...rumors... who knows...

Gotta love all the pandering for youtube clicks this forum gets.

I'm not attempting to pander as this is a feature I truly hope is offered on the C8. It's an effective way of storing the targa top without eating into the frunk space. I hope that GM has figured out a way to incorporate something like this into at least one of the C8 variants.

There was another purported internal leak that said power targa, but as you mentioned, the other leaked configurator does show "removable dual tops". I think the person claiming power targa saw the power vert and mistook it. Given the buttresses stay in place, the roof panel that goes away would look like a targa panel. The difference being no intact b-pillar and the vertical glass rolls down.
makes sense...
...but this image looks very weird... can't wait to see it for real!

So a power folding cloth targa is more desirable than a spyder version of the car? I don't get why someone would not just buy the spyder version of the C8. Seems like GM would forgo the cost and complexity of offering the same car with two different power top options.

You’d think one would be a fixed roof coupe and the other the other the spyder. Apparently it has to do with airbag laws as to why the coupe will still be targa.

I didn't think there was an engine that could sound worse than my 1996 John Deere LX 176. Whew.

Yep! nice option but $12,300 for it!?
Maybe not...?

It's not an "innovation" question. If they did it, there goes the entire trunk. And BTW, when's the last time you saw a current Porsche Targa? I think I've seen ONE in the last 2 years and 911's are more common around here than Corvettes by a LONG shot....Now 911 Cabs? One on every street corner!
