Who is getting the front end lift option ?
I know I definitely am. just wondering how popular the option will be.
Also curious to see Thursday what mechanism is used to operate it. Hydraulic or other .

If I were to option out a build, you can bet your *** I'm adding that. My C5Z with a carbon lip is entirely too close for comfort in certain places around town, and after owning my Panamera GTS with a lift feature, it's an absolute necessity in any "sport" car.

Does GM have any other front end lift systems? Thinking about long term cost and reliability. Just like MSRC - yeah it’s great now but what happens when it breaks?

In my experience, hydraulic is both the lightest and cheapest to build and takes less space but it is the more prone to failure and is probably the more expensive to maintain. So, I would hazard that because of weight and cost alone it will be hydraulic??
Best feature on the car besides the forward cameras. A friend’s wife accidentally made solid contact with a fairly low concrete parking place curb. Repair bill was $1800. So, the cameras and lift feature could pay for themselves very quickly.

Ferrari has it as a $4500 option.
Porsche has it as a $2500 option
Therefore, based upon what Porsche and Ferrari over-charges on their other options, I would guess the Corvette system would be around $1600-$1800....... just GUESS
Seems so worth it at anything less than $2G

Yes, i am getting it. McLaren’s option pricing seems imminently reasonable. For instance, a front-end lift system for clearing steep driveways at the chalet runs $1,560 on the McLaren and $2,590 on the Porsche. A bargain, I say!

Never was able to get in and out of my Hawaii driveway in my C6 without a scape no matter how slowly and at what angle I approached it, not to mention speed bumps, and it was only a tiny bit lowered. Even my current flat VA driveway has to be approached slowly to avoid the slight scrape. The under nose on my C6 is beat to heck and I've replaced the radiator frame which cracked clean through.
Heck yes, I'll get it if offered.

Its these types of little things that are gonna make Chevy bug $$$$ on each of these cars....
The way the big exotics nickel and dime you and that starting price of xx,xxx turns into xxx,xxx before you back out and go. "Wooooo"..
I think the car will start low 60s but before it's something maybe 75% of us would buy itll Crest 79k or 80k in a heartbeat. "Gotta get that cool thing".... it's how I started.. 2Lt to 3Lt to 3Lt Z51 and then next thing I knew I was in a 100k Z06 3LZ. And STILL wanting things.
Terrible lol

I need this option because of my driveway. I worry that it might not be ready at start of production.

It won’t be standard. I hope GM offers this and other key options ala carte I stead of requiring a trim level or a special option package in order to get the features we would all like. Porsche is pretty good at the ala carte options.

nice to hear from an owner who admitted to the problem
loved my C5 except for the darn scraping! C6 never an issue because it wasn't as low.
the c8 sounds like a nice fix, too bad IT IS AN OPTION!
