Another C8 --((VIDEO))-- July 13, 2019

You must not have seen this guy’s other videos. He is a total tool. He always does street races in either his Hellcat or Mustang, but he always jumps the gun. I use to watch his stuff but it is the same ‘ol crap all the time and he gets annoying quick.

I’m not sure if these things are part of camouflage or an aggressive stage of aero?

That's not why people are negative. People are negative because the video is ****.

Ive been saying for a whilethat its fake. I drew red lines about the same section and the side vents. The hood is likely going to be slotted. Probably one bit slot for downforce or something. The goofy lip is hiding the actual length and curve of the hood. Looks better without the spoiler.

I enjoyed the young man’s enthusiasm for the new Corvette. Reminded me of me—50 year’s ago. Every year’s arrival of the new model year Corvette was a “happening” in our small town. Lemans Blue was my favorite color then.
Enthusiasm for Corvette, however and whenever voiced, is a very good thing.

I can't wait for the 18th so we can be done with this nonsense. I only hope the C8 turns out to be a great looking car and not the '"fever-dream" I see with the camo and cavern size side scoop.

Safety Car
So far, I've heard different people in different videos talk about "Spooling" sound. This C8 didn't even have the full spoiler and the guy said "You hear that whistling?".
There was nother video in Germany that someone else talked about the turbo spooling.
So, what are we looking at? Base Stingray or Z06 or what? or what with Turbo?
However, when the guy started the engine, it sounded like a 6.2 V8 and not a 4.0 V8. Are we getting 6.2 TT?

Today I learned people don't know how to scroll forward in YouTube videos.
This is the best quality, up-close video I have yet seen of the C8. You can clearly make out details about the tires (Michelins) and the front hood I have not been able to make-out before. The quality of the video reveals some depth in the design of the car that makes it look better to me than what I have seen before.
Like the cars in Germany, this is clearly a turbo V8 motor in what appears to be a base (narrow tires) body.
Months ago I remember reading speculation from this forum about a NA V8 engine offered the first years of the car but being replaced by a smaller turbo v8 engine. A second, larger displacement turbo V8 would power the Z06.
I wonder if it is possible that this LT2 motor is just a temporary solution for the C8 while development/testing completes of the smaller turbo engine in the C8 chassis (the car in the video)?

In many ways, one of the more informative C8 videos yet. But many, instead of focusing on the visual details and the sound, need to arrogantly and disrespectfully focus on demeaning an enthusiastic kid. Really? If some of the responses in here are indicative of the level of maturity and class inherent in Corvette owners, then the Corvette will continue to be mired in a sad subculture of selfish aggrandizement by individuals who respect nothing but themselves and have a burning need to bring others down to their level. The Corvette deserves better.

I would tend to agree that this could be a different model except the fenders are not flared out like the Z06 or ZR1. Thats usually the dead giveaway of the next level...This one has slim hips.
And...I think these old farts complaining need to lighten up on this video. It was impromptu on the spot and he got some nice coverage of the C8 getting gas and leaving. I mean really, was he supposed to NOT say anything??? Give me a break...Everybody so wound up, sensitive and critical about every freakin thing these days...Thats whats "really" annoying! Grow up people!

Porsche is doing away with the different widths for the Carrera 2 vs 4 to move to a single wider body, is it possible Chevy is doing the same for the Z51 vs Z06? Have we actually seen any video of a narrow vs wide C8 yet?

If Corvette is to survive far into the future, it's kids like this one who will carry it forward.
Sure are a lot of grouchy old men around here, who, apparently, were never young once themselves...
Yup, there it is, folks.
