Jeep Wrangler standard engine is the V6 they've always had, upgraded option is a turbo 4 cylinder for 1k more plus 2k for the required auto transmission(I only know this because we are ordering one for the warden). Maybe not the example you where looking for but engine displacement isn't as big of a deal now days.
If the base C8 is priced above $72K or thereabouts the Corvette is pretty much dead within two years. Ain’t gonna happen. Probably more in the realm of $62-64K max.
Power and torque are the new bragging rights not cubic inches. That having been said, the Blackwing technology seems almost too good to be true as a potential match for the C8.....
The Cadillac 4.2L Twin-Turbo V-8 LTA engine will be available in two initial versions:
A regular-output version making 500 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque
A high-output variant making 550 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque
The only question is the weight and general dimensions, especially the vertical height compared to the 6.2 engines. Also, the Blackwing would look pretty amazing “under glass” in a C8 engine bay.
Now, the Cadillac President recently said, “Over my dead body” with respect to a Blackwing making it into a C8. But, the Blackwing engine is conveniently made at the Bowling Green Performance Build Center. And, as some have pointed out, it would only take a couple of minor mods to technically make a derivitave engine “not a true Blackwing,” relieving the Caddy President of accusations of misleading the public and press.
A couple of the C8 mules just sound “different”. Shorter exhaust run? Different exhaust systems? Or, ???
FWIW, I don’t believe the Blackwing will initially be in a base C8 if for no other reason than the improbability that it could have been kept a secret up to this point. But, I wouldn’t rule a modded Blackwing out as a potential Z06 power plant.

Calling someone out isn't hate lol. And have you seen how long PCM has been swearing there'll be a new/refreshed FE Corvette alongside the C8? I think most find it funny and delusional because he's so convinced and consistent or he's one of the greatest internet trolls of all time.
