At this point... what would be a deal killer?
With everything we "know" to date, what would be a deal killer to where you'd pull your deposit and not buy the car? For me... about the only thing would be price i.e. I can't afford it. I truly hope GM doesn't "camaroize" the face and black out the lower lip like the StreetSpeed leak. That would be very very disappointing to me especially given they did a 180 on the Camaro face. Would it stop me from buying the car? Probably not.

Drifting
Price is the biggest determining factor. Second would be whether or not I actually like driving the DCT...if things hold true to rumors of no proper manual transmission that's a real disappointment.

Engine auto start/stop that can't be disabled.
Clunky, unrefined DCT.

At this point, i think there is enough information for me to say there is no deal breaker. I want more info on the 2nd year Z06, but I'm confident that, and the base car will be substantial improvements over the C7, and I love my C7 Z.

If the same question must be asked, the same answer will be given...
no manual = no sale
no manual = no sale

Price and looks. At this point, I don't find the C8 at all appealing from renders. Can't wait to see what GM pulls out regardless.

Pro
1. Price (within 10% of current pricing)
2. Can I carry enough stuff (groceries and/or luggage - doesn't have to be golf bags) to use as a daily driver?
3. Can I fit (6'3"/240)?

Burning Brakes
I will just echo what's already been said above. For me it would be price and looks above all else. Followed closely by drivability. I have always been a manual transmission guy my whole life. And if it does not instantly make the C7 look outdated then no point.

Burning Brakes
I usually shy away from the first model of any car, just so the 'bugs' can get worked out prior to the next year's models. But for me, the deal-breaker will be hearing of paint flaking off the front fascia (or any other area) on the C8 just as it did on my 2018 GS Vert front fascia. To have paint spontaneously flaking off on GM's flagship car is simply unacceptable. So I'll watch in year one to see if anyone is having those issues with the C8. If they are, I'll simply go to another brand and never look back. GM, are you listening?

Price would be the ultimate deal breaker. If it's in pre-owned McLaren or 488 territory I would go that route. Not worried about luggage space. I took many a weekender trip with my F430 and had plenty of room for my stuff and the wife's stuff. Not concerned with the lack of a manual since my knees are shot anyway. I do hope they get the DCT right, though. I'm confident the overall look will be on target. We'll know tomorrow.
