When Mark Reuss was discussing the past CERV models he made some notable comments about the CERV II AWD capability. I immediately perked up and would put money on it that a higher model version will be able to offer this. That could be another big win if so.

I like what Aston is doing with a "non plug in" hybrid. Put an elec motor up front, no battery, TT DOHC at 800,. another 200 or so up front to pull things along

ALL of this is within current capabilities for the team so it will come in due time. The basic platform will be refined to handle this sort of mind bending acceleration

Maybe electric motors on the front. But with that engine/transaxle configuration, AWD doesn't look easily manageable.....

AWD would make me jump at it. I'm hoping for AWD TT with perhaps 48V boost system like Mercedes is now using in many of their cars.. I currently have an AMG GTS (RWD) and it's hard to get all the power down with RWD. . I previously had a CLS63 S AMG (AWD) and handling was superb on track, and no wheel spin with launch control.. AWD is THE future for performance cars. All AMG vehicles in 2021 will be AWD. I'm waiting until next year to buy a C8 and hope AWD will become available in the Z06 (although I plan to buy one anyway!).

AWD is fine for FE cars, going up or down an incline/decline in nasty winter weather. Otherwise, a well-balanced mid-engine design and rear wheel drive is more than sufficient. Let's wait and see what the track times are like for this design and how it competes with other manufacturers. It looks like it has plenty of room for development with the present rear-drive configuration.....

The current C8's have an option code stating "CHASSIS DRIVE REAR WHEEL DRIVE" That seems like an odd RPO code to me if you don't plan to have different drive options in on the way.

AWD would make me like it a lot more. These days with the amount of power these cars make rwd is useless. And if you haven't launched a 3000lb boosted car off a 2-step you wouldn't understand lol. Sadly GM is always 10-15 years behind the curve so by the time their 160K AWD car comes out what can I buy a used Lamborghini, Porsche, GTR, NSX, R8, etc etc for and why would I buy a chevy over those? That's the REAL question. Give me and AWD Z06 at the ~72K I can buy a c7z at and Hell yeah! Give me a depreciating chevy at Lambo pricing and meh why would I not just get the Lambo?

They 100% and will sell an electrically assisted AWD model as the top dog. This was already factored in while designing the vehicle, which is how they ran into the chassis issue during testing.

I was thinking the “Lt7” might be an 800hp engine with a 200hp motor, but I’m thinking 902 on the engine is Very doable with flex fuel. Leaving the front unit to be a fairly small 100hp unit. For pulling the front end in the right direction, 100hp is all that’s really needed.

Another point is the Zr1 was always heavier, faster, and a bit more posh than the z06...that’s why I think the Zr1 is the one that gets the extra traction and lower acceleration numbers.
