How many disappointed?
In my eyes it looks like the camaro had an affair with the Ford gt and this what gm ended up with.
Definitely not for me. I'll stick with a c5 & c6 but I guess it's technology that is being focused on.

Just waking up in the morning and I didn't expect this many replies.
few good jokes going on here too lol
So many mixed feelings on the c8 and a couple of good pointers some have made both pro and con.

I think they did a great job. With the announced performance specs and price, nothing competes.
Virtually all of the rational folks here have been saying for more than a year that it is totally obvious GM will not deviate from the "best bang for the buck" formula for Corvette, and it's always nice to see rationality prevail. Mark Ruess made a point of saying that.

I’ll be buying one, as I can’t really afford a super car and this checks most of the boxes.
I am pretty disappointed in the overall exterior design, though.
It looks fine and I’ll enjoy looking at it, but they could’ve done so much more.
Much better than the C7, though.

I liked it. I like technology...the only thing that was off to me was the slim line of controls for climate (just looks odd) and the square exhaust tips. But sharp car and I bet it handles amazingly well especially in Z51 trim.

But I do agree the looks are kinda....well like the other kids on the block.....but Im not sure really what else can be done for aerodynamics that hasnt been. It is like a big shepherds pie of looks but it works.

Looks; the best they could do. A manual transmission will move me, but not the automatic.

Ya know dont get me wrong I like my M6 C5 and I have always been the “aint no sports car unless it has 3 pedals” BUT eventually all our knees will be a lot older AND there is a real reason why so many high performance high end vehicles come with a DTC or sequential transmission. They flat out do the job faster than any person can and it keeps the engine from lagging down ever so slightly. Besides reading and watching more on this new A8 it sounds pretty interesting. Especially how between shifts it is still building power from the present gear even as it is starting to switch to the next AND in first gear it actually can use BOTH clutches to keep the power planted

It has been discussed here many times, but bears mentioning again that there is no manual transaxle (a requirement for an ME) currently produced that can handle the torque announced for the LT2 tonight. I wish there were but right now that's where things stand.
Porsche can still do in their 911 versions that develop under 400 ft lbs.

After 5 Corvettes, 3 Vipers and a hellcat challenger current Stryker green GTS 2014, I like my viper better. The c8 looks like the nsx very disappointing...

Burning Brakes
- I think that's a great summary, whether pro or con on the final design. As with a lot of new cars I think the details are great but the proportions are not naturally beautiful. But it's increasingly difficult to make truly beautiful cars with CAFE and pedestrian crash regs changing exterior points. While I don't love the C8 Stingray I didn't love the C7 Stingray either. And I ended up loving the look of the ZR1 enough to buy one. Slight modifications can transform a car's overall appearance, and I see a lot of potential with the C8 in Z06/7 and ZR1 future variants. Which I won't buy, because I require a manual

Look, I’m buying one, so I’m not trying to bash the vehicle or **** anyone off.
But step back and try to be objective, just for a second.
If someone showed you this exact photo two years ago and told you it was a leaked pic of the new Camaro, would you be very surprised?
I’m not insulting the car but from the rear quarter it does have more than a healthy dose of Camaro influence. Not exactly exotic.
Still buying one, though. At $60k it’s a hell of a bargain.
