GT500 is fading away thanks to the C8....
I was so excited about the GT500, my thought was after the ADM’s ended I would own one. Now that the C8 has come out and it is not only cheaper then the GT500, it is also cheaper then the GT350, I’m really thinking differently. I have twin 13 year old boys that love cars so having a back seat would be nice, but I just can’t see paying the same for a Base GT500 as a fairly loaded C8. Sure it has more power but good luck putting that power to the ground, I bet it still won’t be faster in many cases.
I bet this C8 is going to ruin many Ford dealerships thoughts of getting ADM’s for the next year or so, either that or they will lose loyal customers.
This car is a game changer anyway you look at it.
Great Job GM!!!!

As a matter of fact, I do. Having been a member of that forum for several years, I can tell you that there are many smart and thoughtful enthusiasts there who know competitive makes very well, as well as a few folks who are totally misinformed - sort of like here and every other automotive forum. The C8 is a game changer for all automotive enthusiasts, and to think that only hardcore Corvette people can understand the C8 is what’s “nonsense on steroids.”

I was excited about the Dodge Challenger Red Eye Hellcat. Same thing though it will just bake the rears all day long. My kids are just about driving age so they don't fit in the back of sports cars well anyway.

I was excited about the GT500, until my local dealer tacked on a 20k ADM. I decided to wait until the C8 reveal to decide which car route I was going to take. Placed my deposit on the C8 the following morning after the reveal.
I've owned multiple Fords over the years, and my wife's Explorer is the last dime Ford will see from me. Their dealer network has been left unchecked on any "special" car.. Focus RS, GT350, GT350R, and GT500. This will be my first Chevy and I am excited about starting the experience without haggling away the ADM.

I looked at a particular popular Mustang forum to see what people were saying about the C8. It seems that people are not only canceling their GT500 order are to get a C8, but that they are mad at Ford for making the GT500 overpriced and allowing ADMs on top of it. Some dealers are dictating the options some customers can chose, probably due to things like the Carbon Fiber Track Pack pushing back the production date if selected, and there aren’t many allocations to begin with. People will still buy GT500s and it will still be a fantastic performance car, but the C8 May cause a lot of dealers to reduce or eliminate ADMs.
As people have said, the same things are being said by Porsche guys about the upcoming GT4 and Boxster Spyder. They are ALL tired of how overpriced every Boxster is, but they are simply demanding a better car.

The GT500 will be a beast and they will sell each and everyone they make.
Only thing the C8 might do, is temper the ADMs from dealers.
There are still new Dodge Demons for sale with huge ADMs. At what point does a dealer decide to cut bait and sell the car?
At the local new car show, my wife sat in a Red Focus RS. She wanted to see the sticker price. So we ask the dealer rep to see the sticker. He showed us the sticker and it had a 15k ADM attached to it.
I said if he gets rid of that ADM it will be sold first thing monday morning.
They sat on the car for 9 months before it finally sold. Im guess it didn't have the ADM on it either.

I'm a currently driving a 2016 Shelby GT350. It's a pretty amazing car. I was considering the GT500, but the C8 looks astounding and starting at 60k (I know no one is getting a stripper) it's a breath taking bargain. I'm pretty much a life long Mustang Guy, but Damn guys this is an amazing Chevy.

I didnt pay an ADM for my GT500 allocation, its being built 9/23/19. I like the C8, but not the base model, or Z51. minimum z06 level, and that is a longer wait, higher price tag, and more importantly, no back seat for the kid. I have always like vettes, but they were never right for me. The C8, I could see myself getting into one way waaaay down the road

760hp > 495hp.
Different cars in different classes. I expect great things from the move to ME, but lets be realistic here, there is still a massive power train difference. The GT500 is a brilliant car, and will easily sell every one produced.

For me the problem with the Mustang is, you can spend big bucks on a tricked out GT, then some guy with a $20K base 4 cylinder pulls up next to you and says, "hey, just like mine", they're just too common. Then you count the number of look alike Mustangs on the road. I remember doing this exercise when I was looking at Corvettes, Mustangs and Camaros. There were large numbers of Mustangs and Camaros but I only saw one Corvette on the same drive. That's what turned me off to Mustang (and Camaro) and turned me on to Corvette. I wanted a good looking high performance car that wasn't as common as the pony cars.

I bought a GT350 in 2016. Had to go to Oklahoma to find a reasonable price. Most of the dealers in CA were asking $20,000 ADM and no way was I going to pay that.
I chose the GT350 over the C7 due to the special engine in the 350, the space for my kids, and because there are some details on the C7 styling that bug me.
I really like what I am seeing with the C8 (although I do wish it had a stick shift), so I think I will see if I can swing a Grand Sport when it becomes available. Will not be getting rid of the GT350 though. That car is awesome.

No comparison! Apples and oranges, Champagne and beer. The Corvette is in a much higher class and league! The Mustang is Camaro's fight!
