Then you'd lose the clean lean look they achieved with just the two, driver centric screens on the dash. I also love the way they integrated the heating and AC vents into the dash design (and under the screen). Very clean, but futuristic design... perfect.

People can complain all they want about the unique design, but this is the first Corvette with a truly world class interior. C7 bridged the gap and got close, the C8 interior accomplished it.

many said the same thing about the last few generations because of something they didn't like.
Most recently being that the C7 rear would be changed to round taillights
This looks stunning to me, along with the rest of the car

How is it "overly busy" when you have your typical controls on the drivers door, typical steering wheel controls, then the rest of the controls all in one strip on the center console?

Seems the opposite of "busy" to me. I mean, it's a little odd, because I haven't seen it done before, but "busy" is very far down the list of adjectives I'd use to describe it.
Agreed. I've flown a dozen or so planes professionally and it would be a dream to fly in a cockpit set up like this. Currently flying the 737. I control the temperature throughout the aircraft from the right seat and those three dials on the overhead alone give me neck pains.

I think it is stupid, it looks like they designed the dash and forgot about the screen and just plopped it on top. I can just see dirt and whatever getting trapped behind the screen and being very difficult to keep clean. But again its not really GM's fault., that's just the way the auto industry is doing those features now a days.

Other than that I love the interior, and it is certainlly not a "deal-killer".
I find the comments about the infotainment screen perplexing. Many are saying it looks "tacked on." In my view it looks like a completely integrated part of the cockpit. I have no complaints, and I'm someone that really dislikes the iPad up on the dash look that many are saying this resembles.

To clarify, this is an iPad on the dash:

And this is part of a cockpit:

I think it looks fine. Not great or anything but definitely good. My wife recently owned a late model Mercedes and the interior in that was awesome. If you want to see an interior that blows you away then sit in a Mercedes AMG GT. I know that is double and then some the cost of a C8 however you really see where the money went. We recently picked up a new BMW 3 series and the interior and technology in that is pretty awesome as well.

I am a little disappointed they went with the "floating iPad" design philosophy since most auto makers started moving away from that a generation ago.

Overall though I think it is functional interior that looks decent. Not a dealer killer for me. I am sure you will be able to get higher level interior trim options that will make it look better. The row of buttons almost reminds me of Porches from a generation or two ago though.

If while driving you just want to be a passenger, this is not the car for you. You should buy a Tesla. More than a few drivers have been pictured sleeping while on self driving mode.

About it maybe being inconvenient for the passenger to adjust stuff. The driver picks the music, and controls the temp. I am OK with that.
I have owned a few BMW's and currently own a 2019 BMW 3 series. Every BMW I have had has separate buttons for climate controls and the I-Drive system is the best in the business in my opinion. Not sure what BMW cars you are talking about.

It's stunning, especially the beige. I really don't mind a long row of buttons but why did they have to create a ski jump to put them on? Putting up that wall made the passenger a 2nd class traveler. They need to do something to involve the passenger in the experience, give her a screen of her own, do something useful, navigate, entertain. It really could be a deal breaker because I'd be embarrassed for her.

It definitely looks better than the Merc. I absolutely hate that look for the infotainment screen. However, the C8 is still not as integrated as I would like and still looks somewhat tacked on to me.

Overall, I think the interior looks nice, but there are some quirky bits to it. I think I would need to see it in person and sit in it to make a final judgement though.

I will say this though, it’s definitely the best looking Corvette interior ever in my opinion.

Agreed, Maybe the C8 driver can install his own Nintendo Switch on the passenger side or install a second steering wheel so that the passenger does not feel left out of the equation.

As a pilot I like the interior.

So far ... B747-400, B767, B757, B737, B727, MU2, Beaver, Otter, Mohawk, Queen Air, King Air 100 & 200, P-51 Mustang, Pitts, DC4, DC3, T-38, Citation 560XL, Apache, Huey, Cobra, Jet Ranger, Hughes 500, various tail draggers, and a number of other SE & ME aircraft. I’ve visited or jumpseated in many others including the B777, B787, DC-10, Airbuses, Convairs, several biz jets, Ilushyins, and even the Concorde a number of times.

Most were of necessity quite “busy” and maybe a very few not so much. But none had the outright direct simplicity of quality ergonomic design that the C8 has. The HVAC controls are brilliant and once the driver understands the groupings, only a quick glance would be required to find the desired control resulting in minimum driving distraction and some will be easily changed by feel only without so much as a glance. Also, a “co-pilot” can easily find the control they wish to adjust or which the driver requested them to adjust.

There’s a reason why every time a novice pilot or passenger steps into the cockpit that the first thing they say is, “How the hell do you guys and gals remember what all these buttons, *****, switches, levers and gauges are for?” That won’t be much of a problem with the C8 cockpit, unlike a number of other sports cars I’ve driven.

No problem with someone saying that the C8 cockpit is “Not my cup of tea” or “I just don’t like it.” But poor ergonomic design? Quite the opposite I would have to say.

But yeah, maybe the C9 cockpit will finally look like a real uncluttered airplane cockpit...

I remember when it came out for 2001. There were many complaints about how difficult it was to use, and how much it caused drivers to be distracted from the road. They eventually brought back some dedicated buttons instead of having a single input ****.

If you really want to see an interior that blows you away, sit in a Ram 1500 Limited. Sounds crazy, but every review I have read said the interior rivals a Mercedes S Class.

"It looks more like the S-class in here than even an E-class does, particularly in the dark-blue/cream (Indigo/Frost per Ram) combo sported by this truck." Car and Driver

They had some issues with the first go but have been driving them since 2004 & think its the best overall package there is. German dashboards are pretty basic & unsexy but very functional. Nice thing is many of the buttons are multi-use depending on what screen is up.

The row of buttons is ok except it isolates the passenger. The wall in the early iteration of the updated C4 interior had to go partly due to this but it seems to have been allowed in the C7? Also, does anyone else notice the similarity of the (late model) C4 and C7 interior/dash? Just noticed it searching for images of the C5-C7 interiors. The C8 is sort of a continuation of that design theme.

About the "infotainment" systems in modern cars. This one looks like they figured they'd just superglue an iPad in there. The Mercedes screen shown above isn't better (and looks way too "early 2000 sci-fi" not to feel dated very soon). The Tesla one looks like another superglued iPad. At least in some cars it can be operated by the passenger though which does not look like an option in the C8.

Overalll, I think the interior would have benefited from not having the huge extra screen.
