No question the Mustang.
But who cares?

Well it all depends on what reality you adhere to. A couple of years ago while driving home from Cars on Fifth show we, in our Corvette pulled next to a guy in a really beautiful Shelby 500 Mustang. I said, nice car! He said," I sell these things and I'd rather have your Corvette. I asked him why? "He said, most Corvettes are well taken car of while all these Shelby's tend to have been hammered by their owners and are very hard to sell."
This. If you hammer a car to death, it will crush the value. No way around it.

By looking at used prices on GT500's at the end of the day it's still just a Mustang and will depreciate accordingly.

These new GT500s will hold their value. The base model C8s, I candidly expect will not. The special models (GS/Z06/ZR1) most likely will.
*Actual unicorns and fairies would be a more common sight, honestly.

Whichever one can hold the most golf bags will retain its value better.

the GT500 will be so rare it will hold its price better.

That's the problem. So many Corvettes C8s that they will not hold their value .Maybe the first 10. The only way you can feel like you made a little progress is in the initial deal. Another reason over sticker is a suckers bet. After that it's down hill all the way. Of course one time people thought the 60s cars were junk. You could buy one and store it for say 60-70 years and it might go up. The '63,'67 did

Thanks Guys for all the insight it helps a lot Both are Great Cars. I know a few said who cares. But if I'm walking into a dealership and writing a check for 75-80k I would like to
think about all the Different considerations.

If I was in your shoes, I'd be considering the GT350R.... a VERY special car with less than 2,000 units made so far (about 500 a year made). Everyone I know that has driven the car, including me, feels like it's an amazing driving experience and it has a cult following of current and exotic car owners that have bought them because of how good they are.
The GT500 is old news before it even hits the showroom floors IMO. I'm in on a C8 but if I had the cash I'd buy a GT350R and never sell it and add the other cars like the C8..

Except that motor has some pretty bad shortcomings.

The reason I ask this is because I was looking at the GT500 before seeing the new C8 and now I have switched what I’m looking at.
This car will be used as my daily driver.
Finding a deal on the GT500 and paying MSRP I will be at $74,000
Going with the C8 I would do the Z51 package along with LT2 or LT3 witch would put me more or less right about the same price as the GT500.
So Not being biased either way. Say 4 or 5 years and 50k-60k miles witch will hold its Value more? And my how much do you think?
love to hear what you guys think on this subject on two great cars🇺🇸

I'm surprised this question was asked....a daily driver that will have over 50k miles when sold in 5 years.....come on, let's be realistic. The resell value won't even matter then because you are going to be "trading" a car that is worth a percentage of what you bought it new for. Collectors, the people who pay good money for cars, are not looking for a 50k mile daily driver. My belief is that people that plan to daily drive a car for five years should buy the car that they feel will be the best fit for them now.
