Do you think you will be able to hook a winch to the front end somewhere to use a winch to load into an enclosed trailer? If so, where will be the connection point? Thanks!!
For $35 , no reason not to buy one for emergencies. Don't get ripped off with the $80-$150 scammers. I leave the black shaft in place and the hook in the trunk.
You can't even notice the shaft installed. https://smile.amazon.com/iJDMTOY-201...omotive&sr=1-2
I'm trailering with a AeroVault. Its tight with a Z06/Z07 about an inch play on either side of the canards. The trick is how to "keep" the Z06 in neutral after getting out of the car. That is explained in the manual though. The next trick is if you are using tire over strap system. If so you will need to install the inside static end first because you will never be able to reach under nor from the side to install that section of the tire tie down. You then slip the strap between the wheel well and the tire. I"ll be putting my car into the trailer this Friday. I'll try to post pics or a video.
I never thought about it before, but is the tow hook the proper way to load the car onto a flatbed for towing? For most cars, they wrap their chains around the suspension, but that would destroy a typical 'vette's front end. The tow hook always seemed less than substantial to pull a heavy load up a ramp that is often at a pretty large angle.
On a side note, years ago a tow truck driver was loading my wife's Cube onto a trailer... the driver was "helping his brother out for the day" (which should have given me great pause), and (once on the trailer) he tightened the straps so tightly it actually bent the A-arms. I just cringe thinking about something like that happening to the 'vette. Dumped the Cube shortly afterwards. The entire reason it was on the flatbed was the CVT would completely fail to operate at random (shades of DCT issues? ).

V-Bridle with T hooks hooked into the frame slots (as described in the owner's manual) is the best way.
