I have a C7 Z51 now and have a deposit for the C8 at 3k over MSRP
the 2019 redeye wide body is being discounted a lot now ....I know the cars really can’t be compared but
I have a feeling the redeye is going to hold it value better than the C8 .....
my plan was not to buy the first year of the C8 but got sucked in by all the hype ...

Miss mine. Had a '18. 1200 HP. Went through 4 A10 Trans. Finally sold it. Bought a '19 GT-R. Sometimes I wish I had another Zl1, but looking at all the new stuff that's out, when I sit in a Zl1, it feels outdated. I went back and forth on the GT-R, but I couldn't pass up the deal I got. But, I knew I was only going to keep it a year, 2 years tops. Zl1 tho out of any car in the $65k range is easily the easiest decision to make.

you do not pay 3000.00 over sticker for a mass production car... you just do not!!! I means it will cost you 3000.00 plus the 10,000.00 everyone else will lose because they have to be the first on the block to have this car
you buy the C8... at worst you'll look like a 55+ year old guy who always wanted a corvette..... if you buy a hellcat... the BEST you'll look like in a wannabe boyracer who never grew up
Do Corvettes cause grey hair?
or
Does the average corvette owner have grey hair?

C8 all the way. Hellcat interior is too old and cheap, car is too common and long in the tooth, and every Hellcat I have seen run at the dragstrip ran like crap from lack of traction. C8 will smoke the Hellcat off the line up to at least 70. So unless you do a lot of highway pulls and want an old car, C8.

If you want to save a bunch of money on a loaded up Redeye I know where you can get one. Less than 2500 miles. Sticker price was a touch over 90K; can be bought for 75K. Has to be quick though as it is getting traded in to the dealer in a couple days. I am sure the dealer would honor my price for a few days after I trade though if deal is done through me.
In all honesty it was a VERY hard decision for me to get rid of the redeye for a new C7 ZR1. There is a LOT to love about the redeye!

No, 4 trans in 4 months. haha. All warrantied too. Got to love Chevy. But I had had enough, so off it went to Indiana. From what i've been told, the guy who bought it took the A10 out and put a 4 speed in it.

OP. Once the newness wears off.. how is that paying OVER msrp going to make you feel? Unless you have money to burn that is such a waste of money. I really hope nobody is paying over msrp for these cars. My god. In 2 years they'll be 10k under msrp and you won't be able to do a thing without losing your shirt on a trade or sale.

3000 over sticker isn't bad let me explain.
If you spend 3000 over at your local shop you won't have to worry about finding a way home. Because think of it you go to a dealership 2000 miles away is gonna cost you in airfare to get there and then gas and lodging unless of course your not 2200 miles away which isn't cheap. If you want to shipped instead then your spending top dollar to have the car delivered. Either way your spending money. For 3000 you don't have to do none of it and your instantly enjoying your new toy vs waiting 2 weeks for the car to be picked up and transported and hope the dealership did a proper PDI. Im sure most here know how much of a pain in the *** it could be to have the car shipped if you don't live immediately along the major corridors of this country. Just my 2 cents on it.
Now like some dealers will do is tag a 15k over msrp, now that to me is dumb if you pay it. But a small overage you kind of have to weigh the costs of dealing with an MSRP dealer post sale.
Also some dealers are a-holes when it comes to courtesy deliveries because what benefit do they get other than the 400 or so tip you give them to accept the car for you

But again, if you want to go fast in a straight line, the Z51 C8 isn't going to compare to a Redeye. If you want to go fast on a twisty course, a Redeye isn't going to match a Z51. That's the nuts and bolts about it, as much as people want to take pointless shots at cheap or outdated platforms.

After a blown head unit, broken seat fan, and TWO differentials replaced in the first 1000 miles of ownership of my Challenger SRT (no longer own) I am done with the Dodge Boys.

C8 for sure as it will be no slouch in a straight line. Might even beat the Redeye Widebody to the 1/8 mark.

Not to argue but those "other words" are yours not mine. I would replace "done properly" with maxed out. and "corners cut version of it's" with minimally configured far superior" Those cars are all great cars but they're literally based on a formula from 50 years ago... Literally 50 years. The C8 is a fresh clean sheet that was designed to be scaled way up to compete with today's modern Big Dog supercars...

Nothing against the car, I just think it's too big.
