Base or Z51
I'm with you Supersonic!...I too have a non-Z51 on order also. Down the road I may see a wing in person that I like or what the aftermarket may come up with...but I'd like to get the car FIRST...

I've only seen the Z51 in person, and I love the way it looks. The spoiler in my opinion completes the look and it seems subtle enough. The whole car looks good so it can't go wrong, but the back end looks...bald? without the spoiler to me.

The base looks too plain but I think what they should had done was make the rear end have an integrated spoiler like in the Ferrari F8 Tributo!

I agree with the integrated spoiler. I'm holding on to hope that the ZO6 has active aero.

Base base base for the win!!!!
I saw the car in person. I like the BASE with its tiny spoiler. Also, body colored side vents. If you listen to Tadge closely, he explained several times why the BASE is better if you are not tracking the car. I like the high wing too but the BASE version still looks better to me. Also, with high wing, its gonna be a beotch loading and unloading the targa roof into the trunk. 😜

Melting Slicks
If I remember correctly from NCM Video, the hood's center valley between the inboard two ridges is designed to direct air toward the base of windshield that create a High Pressure area their that produces 400 Lbs of Front End Down Force. That's non Z51 package Down Force, that with Z51 Spoiler or High Wing provides 800 Lbs of total Down Force.
Now what part the C8 Z51 Front Spliter plays Aerodynamic wise, that without the Z51 Spoiler or High Wing, causes an imbalance in Down Force that effects stability/handling without the Spoiler or High Wing installed, I haven't seen it discussed, but my best guess without one or the other, it unloads the rear of the C8 to much, causing a lost of traction on rear at speed.

My natural inclination with all Corvettes is to just check all the boxes, because traditionally that has provided the best look. With the C8 I think the Z51 spoiler does not look as good as the base model with tiny spoiler. (The C8 high wing is absolutely horrendous, so that would not even be in consideration. Come to think of it, the ZR1's massive wing is pretty awful too, so that would be the other Corvette I would not check all the boxes for.)
But, since I am not going to get a base-level Corvette, I'm waiting to see what the high-HP versions offer. Hopefully active aero that disappears at low speeds!
