Default The C8 was at fault

Motor Trend's Jason Cammisa posted these on Instagram. He said there were 4 C8s in and the first went over the line and struck the Equinox then the Ranger.

Nice pics but I don't blame the C8. I think the driver had something to do with it

Haha I just saw the post and had to share. I know myself and many others were wondering who crossed the yellow line. I figured it was the C8.

To be clear, Jason is not quoting a police report but rather telling us that the brother of his friend was in one of the cars involved, and he implied that the information came from his friend.

Why would it be a problem with the car?? It's the mountains in CA, the driver got carried away most likely.

Glad everyone is ok...

That being said, the impact looks to have been fairly hard, and I am impressed at how well the structure of the C8 stood up. Now, the car looks completely effed (maybe even totaled?) , but I think the main structure did its job well...

Cant wait until tomorrow!

Something about blaming guns for killing people came to mind.

See I was right on my accident rundown..

It just goes to prove that anything can happen and all those threads and posts of people saying Im getting a z51 for "canyon carving" and you needed it, doesnt mean squat. Hell, you might have less accidents thinking the z51 will let you ride in god mode. lol

This helps me decide more towards base with the 2LT and NPP w/ No wing(which is really a battle because the big wing looks good too).

Seems someone is not used to driving a car with a bit of understeer? Wait, does the C8 have bad understeer? Some ME cars have had problems there...

Or perhaps the driver just didn't expect the bit of extra push into the far side of the turn?

Either case, seems the driver was getting overly zealous, if he had to cross the middle line...

Glad the airbags and guard rails did their job!

That's a classic cell phone usage accident. Any head-on collision, offset or otherwise, is going to be heavy hit. Two cars crawling along at 20 mph and colliding from opposite directions are like driving into a tree at 40 mph.

Seems like a simple case of understeer whether from excess speed or a sudden change in road surface.
