They really look nothing like each other.. the McLaren has a much more exotic look, you can tell one is much cheaper than the other.

[QUOTE=AzDave47;1600064855]Oil change on a McLaren 610LT - $12K, bargain next to the Bugatti Chiron's $21K oil change.

McLaren 720S:
My friends coupe just went in for its annual service last month. Bill was $1,776.13. It says “1st year maintenance service including oil and filter service, brake fluid service, cabin pollen filter service, wipers and washer solvent replacements and required mechanical inspections “. Not sure who said 12k unless your thinking the P1 or original F1.
A Day at-the Mclaren store.

Performance wise It will, exclusivity, hand built luxury brand name NO. It's a Mclaren that alone makes it different. The exclusive fastest production cars in the world have come from Mclaren. Corvette has always been the value leader when it comes to packaging and performance & you get a lot for the money. The new C8 is a game changer but still follows the same principles.

Koenigsegg, Pagani, and Bugatti may beg to differ.

At a recent local Cars and Coffee, 16 McLarens showed up. One was modified to 1,000 Wheel Horsepower. They are beautiful.
I think the C8 looks similar (not the same) and most "non-corvette" people will not know what a C8 is. My neighbour asked me how much my Ferrari cost, and pointed at my blacked-out C7 Z06

McLarens are "look at me" poser cars just like Lamborghinis. No big deal, C8 has a very distinctive, unique appearance that is much more desirable than the cartoonish McLaren. I'm sure there are many who would see it otherwise.

Was looking at pics of the Aventador today. The front of the C8 looks very similar.

Drive a McLaren and you'll know the difference. Rocket ships. One of the most impressive cars I've driven.

I would love to see the C8 have an active areo wing or spoiler instead of the fixed one. Maybe in the future as the car evolves.

Even though slower, I'd take that 458 Speciale over any of those McLarens (excluding P1).

I would love to hear the sound logic behind how a McLaren is a poser car but then a corvette is not. This should be good.

I agree as long as I stab out one eye, throw bleach in the other, and get paid by GM to state that.

That is actually much cheaper than I thought. I have had similar maintenance bills on my wife's Porsche that we sold a while back.

A Corvette has always been an achievable goal. Many have owned or know someone who has owned a Corvette. McLaren's are a snobby rich boy toy that's relatively new.

That's just my take on it.
