Am I the only one that thinks the convertible looks God awful?

I'm willing to bet that a top off coupe provides the identical feeling while driving as a top down convertible. I've owned 2 C5 'verts and one C7 coupe and I honestly don't miss the convertibles at all and I'm more than excited to have a see through engine lid so no 'vert C8 for me.

Well, it looks as if I will be eating crow soup because apparently and most likely you WILL BE ABLE to open the hardtop on the fly while driving.......( I originally posted that would not)
I just watched the hardtop on the new Ferrari F8 spider and in the video they show it opening on the fly while driving.
The supplier that makes the top for ferrari is the same supplier for the C8 corvette.
No reason to think the C8 would not operate the same.

Looks like you are vastly outnumbered. Design looks great.
Could easily have predicted your tiny minority opinion.

1. You are driving down the freeway with the targa roof off and a thunderstorm comes up on you. You will have to pull over and get out of the C8 couple and put the targa roof on the car. You will basically have to pull off the freeway onto a side road to do this. It would be too dangerous to do this on the side of the freeway especially if it's raining.
2. You are driving down the freeway with the top down on the C8 Vert and a thunderstorm come all up on you. You will have to slow down to less than 28 MPH and push the button to put the top up and then get back up to speed. No need to pull over and get out of the car.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. I've driven targas and convertibles and they are not even close to the same, particularly when the rear window is down.
But I have an even bigger question. Why do you care? What's your point? If people like convertibles, does it somehow make a difference to you?

I am with you. Here is the problem with the coupe vs vert

LOL yeah, so you would pull over in the emergency lane and hit the button to put the top up! You would never have to get out of the car and never have to stop.
Or you could just roll up the side windows and roll though the rain storm hoping you don't get too wet on the inside. That BOSE speaker in the water fall might get jacked up though...

Wind buffering is going to be a real problem in the C8 Coupe at higher speeds.
Wind buffering will not be a problem with the C8 Vert because you can roll the rear window up and down.

The silver colored piece at the top of the waterfall is a speaker on the 2LT/3LT trim packages. Looks like Skid Row Joe deleted his post.
