Every car from GM is paid for by the dealer before shipment...period. The dealer can arrange for a floorpan to pay for the inventory but that is not through GM.

Big difference between me verbally promising the dealer I'll buy the $150k car when it shows up, versus putting down $10k of money and promising I'll buy it, even if I still do have an out.

In most states there is no such thing as a non refundable deposit

I wouldn't do it. 6k is the highest I have seen thus far, but basically paying for the car is ridiculous. Call another big dealer near by. Criswell is down there too.

Another urban myth. In most states you better do your research because chances are you lose if you don't exercise the contract to purchase.

I'm agree with most replies here. It's a scam. I'm 100% sure it is. I just reports filed at https://www.whycall.me/806-412-1072.html. Do you guys think it's similar? People should know about these scams.

You probably shouldn't skip to the end....
It's already been covered that this was a scam, Kerbeck was NOT requiring $58K.

PS. I don't understand why someone in this situation wouldn't pick up the phone and, heaven forbid, call the DEALER (instead of your friend who then posts on Corvette Forum and then Kerbeck has a situation that it does not deserve).
