Not a very good barometer, people flipped out over my PT Cruiser when I first got it. If it’s new and different, they will flip out!

Yea that will happen for a few months. I had the first C7 in my area (had to drive 300 miles to get it - C7 Z51 Laguna Blue) and for about the first 6 months I could not go and get gas without people gawking over it. I now have a C7 Carbon 65 Z06 and I still normally get a couple people that ask me about it while getting gas however not near as much as that first 6 months.

If you have ever wondered why Chrysler has been passed around like a hooker for the last 20 years, you need only look at the PT Cruiser. That car was a smash hit (averaged 124,000 units per year for it's 1st seven years) but, some fool at Chrysler didn't think it deserved a re-design....

bad press draws plenty of attention to it just like positive does, who really cares what anyone thinks of it ?
Have to say the most criticial are the vette crowd, they are impossible to please. All over menial stuff too, lots that doesnt even have to do with a sports car.

I have not seen it in person, but have watched tons of 4K/HD walkaround videos and I am struggling the most with the rear. The car, to me, looks dis proportioned and too long in the rear and I find the entire rear end to be too busy and not organic looking.
But I need to see it in person. And sometimes things grow on you. But everytime I see it next to a C7 I keep thinking I like the C7 profile better, especially the rear.
But one of the things I did not like about the C7 was the massive hood... So go figure.. I can't win.

For me its the height & width of the busy rear end. Also the rear hatch is "IMO" going to be an issue... its big, has a small hinge area because of the shape and the two struts are not enough to control that beast from catching wind when it's opened. When you see it in person, lift the rear hatch and give it a shake test... you won't like what you see!
Another point I made in my C8 thread a couple months ago, was the switch console for HVAC being an issue for passengers... I've seen this exact issue pointed out in some of the press articles recently. Time will tell, but I predict we'll see threads about the thick doors causing exit/entry issues with broken intake scoops, rear hatch twisted and broken, and that dang center console is a PITA for my passengers.... or maybe I'm nuck'n-futz? Either way, mine is just an opinion based on first hand experience. Can those that will deflect and ridicule my opinion make the same claim of personal experience? Some sure, most I bet not!

So what is the author's reason for not wanting it?
Whine, whine, whine. It doesn't look like what HE thinks a Corvette should look like. Who cares what he thinks?
Those issues are not the issue. The problem? The historically unmistakable Corvette silhouette is gone. And now, it’s generic.

Yes, you do. Almost everyone who has (including me) says it looks a lot better in person than in pictures. Even the rear end looks better in person (though it's the weakest part of the car).

Some whiny *** douche bag can say anything they want, I have waited a long time for this car and I couldn't be happier about it.

That's the right attitude, just because someone disagrees doesn't make it wrong! It's a great car and if it makes one happy, then by all means enjoy it! I really do wish it moved me, I wanted and was all in on it. Things change, and my personal perspective was changed when I seen it in person. I still have hopes that the Z06 will have ascetics that better suit my tastes.

I would hope that anyone not pleased with the c8 that they cancel their orders...
that way those of us who want the c8 earlier get ours sooner..
no reason for those who prefer other sports cars go out and buy whatever two seater they like...

You have said it a thousand times!
Now why don’t you go away and leave the people who like it alone until the Z06 comes out?
If not, you are just trolling.

It doesn’t live up to the GM hype at this point. After seeing it in person I can’t help but think this car is going to cost GM less to produce than the C7. After truly looking the car over it seems to be devoid of content over the C7. In fact I’m convinced this car is going to be cheaper to build than previous generations. The architecture is much more simple.

I see this on Amazon all the time. People write reviews on items they don’t own. Amazon used to allow reviews of products that hadn’t even been released yet but have since clamped down.
Article isn’t written based on any personal experience. And while my Corvette year would be 1965 according to the dopey author, it is really the 2014-2019 Corvette lol.
This article is written based more on envy since he probably cannot afford a C8 than anything else. What do they pay these internet authors anyway?
