Hybrid or EV C8 confirmed?
Fuse 7: Power sounder module/Pedestrian friendly alert function
Fuse 12: Lithium ion battery module
The pedestrian alert function is used by EVs to produce a low level sound so pedestrians know the vehicle is near by. It is either a hybrid with an EV mode, or full EV.

Hopefully the C8 gets a better sound.
At this point it's pretty safe to say that most if not all clean slate design cars will be EV capable or PHEV at the very least to deal with future CAFE requirements... The other day I pulled into the gas station and there were two pumps on the island and the car at the front pump pulled away but I couldn't get around the car at the back pump directly in front of me...I had to wait an extra 4 minutes and I was starting to grow very impatient. I can't imagine spending any more than 10 minutes to refuel.

IMO is the reason for a DCT only C8! Details in posts on the C8 Tech/Performance Thread!
Pic below is from that leaked info:

But the Ferrari CEO said they plan on selling 60% hybrids in 2022 and postponed a high performance EV because of battery issues.
Funny, yesterday sat next to an engineer on the plane coming to CA who worked for GM on their early a EV. He discussed the energy capacity and heat issues with high power EVs.
Tesla does it with coolant surrounding their battery pack and the addition of a cooling system (which also takes battery power!). Jay Leno showed that system on his a Show. Note the leaked C8 hybrid info (my above post) also shows an AC Chiller in the center battery area! There were no details in that article.
An EV Porsche may fit enough of their market (high priced, lower volume, some folks buying to take to the country club on weekends) to average with lower mpg Porsche’s to meet say the govenment planned requirment of ~40 mpg (that has been on hold since 2017.). But IMO an EV does not fit the Corvette low price, high volume market! My “guess” is GM plans to sell a high percentage of C8 as hybrids to meet the requirements. That could be all but the Zora or ZR2 or whatever it’s called, which for it’s low volume would not have a significant effect on the average of the Corvette family.
Too many folks buying Zora, ZR1s? Easily controlled with price!

Unless folks want to “Play Ostrich.” some increased mpg C8 is coming! My 2020 will not have fuses in those spots but you can bet future C8s will. We’ll see November 5th, just how soon! IMO Corvette folks will be much better with a hybrid than an EV Vette.Yep, on November 5th, some of us will just say “Oh ****” and go on best we can. Tadge and company may say the same thing but were not planning to go out of business based on an election result! They will build an sell the Hybrid C8 they started planning in 2013!

The thought of the center tunnel full of lithium ion batteries, an electric motor, more CV joints and shafts, more computers to control and monitor, more weight, etc., etc. UGH. NOT for me.

It’s good enough for me as well; even the 10 mpg I get on my Street Rod is fine with me. But I don’t control what is required. The World is changing and all but 1 running for President this year has made it their stated goal to significantly reduce CO2 emissions. Some will even ban fracking and drilling. Europe is pushing similar if not tougher #s based on CO2/km.
That 2012 government 1174 page plan is not a “gas gussied tax”. Then those “Rich Folks” who can buy Corvettes will just pay it!
It’s a prohibitive fine for the manufacturer IF each car and light truck family does not meet the goal. Includes the Silverado family getting ~40 mpg as well. There is a discussion about gas prices. Expect those taxes to go up. Taxes are why Europe pays $10/gallon.It’s a complex system and there are some extra things we’re EV’s can help. I’m not saying it’s right, but I say that about a lot of things!
Actually the relatively low storage capacity battery that was detailed in the leaked info may only weight about ~70 lbs from what I was able to find, off the shelf. Their are advantages of added FWD power, which when driving agreesivly can be used with the ICE, like improved 0 to 60 times! Great for Trackers coming out of a turn. It’s not all bad! But agree I’m happy without it!
