GM cancels Corvette dealer training at Spring Mountain
I got an email today from GM telling me my March 23, 24 Corvette Dealer Sales Academy Sessions were cancelled. The letter says that due to the Coronavirus GM Human Resources, have decided to cancel all Corvette training for the month of March. This really sucks!!!
I booked airfare, rental car and three nights in Vegas. I planned on going out from Pennsylvania on Friday the 20th and stay Friday/Saturday in Vegas. Sunday/Monday at Spring Mountain and then Tuesday night back in Vegas and my plane left at 10am Wednesday. I guess I have to wait and see when they start the training again?

Hmm?
Not so bad when compared to a 14 day time out. Coughing wheezing and puking up your guts.

Actually good to see GM being proactive...the CoV2 (aka CoV-19) is spreading pretty quickly and if you get it you will wish you hadn't. My son is in Engineering College here at Florida and they said they have notified the Profs to get ready to alter their courses to online if they decide to pull the trigger when Spring break ends next week.

Sucks for my sales rep... he was supposed to go in the next week or two.

I expect more cancellations in the future. The virus is not slowing down. In fact it is spreading at a pretty fast rate. The situation will be far worse a month from now.

I wish that was reliable source. The problem is the US is handling it very poorly at the moment. It's Spring Break right now with people travelling all over and very little testing is being done. What's happening in Italy will soon be happening here. This may or may not be the place to discuss it so I'll stop now. I just pray for the safety of all the 50+.

Better safe than sorry Ed....I know you're disappointed, You know there are 100,000's of people from all over the world heading in and out of LV daily and you never know what they are carrying!

I went through waiting for the unveiling, then we had the road tour at the dealership on July 29th, next was Corvettes@Carlisle, then getting our allocation numbers, then the order guide and pricing, placing allocations, build dates, STRIKE!!!! convertible unveiling, strike over, new production dates 2/2/20, cars built, cars shipped, and now when it's my time to go to Spring Mountain and drive it smacked in the mouth and put on hold. Well if anything good can come out of this Jim's demo is getting built this week and he told me I can take it for a weekend and learn how everything works in it?
