All Season Performance Tires with a Z-51
I am on a waiting list with McMulkin for a Vette with a Z-51 Performance package. I will be 70 when I get it and I will never take it to the track. It will be a weekend driver. Is there anyway you can get the All Season Performance tires instead of the High Performance Summer Tire?
I have winter weather and do not like the idea of Changing tires for the winter plus putting out another $1700 + and have no where to store the High Performance Summer tire. The garage will be tight with the SUV, the Vette, Refrigerator and Freezer and Cabinets.
Any ideas ?. I really don't need the Summer High Performance tire for the driving that I will do. I assume there are other drivers that will get the Z-51 package and not take it to the track. Any ideas would be sincerely appreciated. I have considered getting a non Z-51 with the exhaust package and magnetic ride control, but I also like Splitter and rear spoiler and do not see that as an option.
Thanks

There's no option to order a Z51 that way at present, so other than buying a new set of tires, you probably can find a base car owner who would be willing to swap. Wheel options are the same on both and tires are the same size.
For a 100% street driver where the climate dips below 60ºF for much of the year, you will be much happier with the all-seasons. They'll give you all the grip you need on the street even in hot weather, and summer performance tires are simply horrible in cold temps.

I understand why - tracking every option increases costs. But I do wish they would do it.
Actually, I'd like GM to come out with Z51 "Lite" version targeted for the street.

Just the Facts
We put Michelin AS 3+ ZP tires on our C7. With C7 Z51 OEM specs, they were our only ZP option so...... But they are great tires. Discount guy says we should get a few more miles from them vs. the Pilot Super Sports. Didn't think that would make much difference given the car is gone when our C8 arrives. But the longer the wait, the more miles we rack up.

Thanks Foosh, we don't get snow, but the average weather temperature is about 40 degrees but it can get down to the mid twenties. Really don't understand why GM does not make the the all season performance tire an option for the Z-51 if we are not taking it to the track.
At any temp below about 70º, the summer tires fall off, until they are bad below 50º, and down right dangerous below freezing. Yes, you can baby the car on summer tires in the cold, but you can't have fun with it, and you can't count on them in panic stop situations.
It takes a lot of heat to make summer tires better, and you really need a race track to see the difference.

NOPE. Your stuck as we all were with the C7. I tried to get tire shops to take my non- desirable summer only sticky track tires and the answers was NO. Tried to sell the PP and that didn't happen. Spent the money on the AS/3 + and sat on the old ones.
Chevy at least had the sense to eliminate those track tires for the "base" C8 but since everyone always has Z51 fever you get what you get. The wrong tire for daily driving.

I really do think there are base car C8 owners out there that might well trade for a set of summer tires. There are many who believe they are better. I am not one of those people when talking about street use.

Just curious, but if you are never going to track, why Z51 at all?

The new A/S 4 on the C8 is reportedly a much better performance tire and snow tire than the A/S 3+. Some are saying that it is demonstrably closer to the PSS tire. I would say that if you aren’t tracking or doing heavy carving in the twisties, the new A/S 4 is definitely worth exploring further and planning to swap out.

I like the added safety of the Electronic Slip differential for traction and control, and the Bremko Brakes for safety, I like the sound of the performance exhaust and I like the looks of the Front Splitter and rear spoiler which all come with the Z-51 package. Additionally I think the Z-51 package would maybe help resale.

GM has not come out with the 2021 Configurator or will start production on the 2021 until November. If enough of us write the Corvette Consigliere requesting the All Season Performance Tire an an option instead of the High Performance Summer Only tire maybe we can make it happen before our order is placed on the 2021. I am 353 with McMulkin so I have awhile to wait.

"In honor of jpee"
I had two sets on my C7, the OEM PSS (summer max perf tire), and Michelin AS3+ (ultra high perf all seasons). I ran each set about 6 months a year in our climate which swings between about 10º-100º. The AS3+ is very similar to the new AS4 now on C8. I found the AS3+ to be as good, even in spirited street use in hot weather, and I did back-to-back comparisons on the same circuits twice a year as I was swapping sets.

OP, if you have a Discount Tire, or wish to talk with TireRack, they'll give you the probably the best prices on those AS 4s. Good luck with them as they will fit your driving and weather far better.

Just drive the summer tires all year round until they wear out and then buy the tires you want.
unless your planning on driving in snow storms the summer tires with active handling etc will be just fine.
