All this union bashing is that jealously raising it’s ugly head or do you think your are better than they are without them pay would be 1900 era pay. Yes there are screw ups people that get protected but without that protection there would not be work place laws and safety regs. I posted up what could have happened and also saw a few about doors being switched that is more plausible than my post since this product is protected by non see thru covering and the fact that red on red is not the norm I can see that happening. Oh those workers may have been in the service protecting your freedom to be a socialist prior to working at plant. Ever see a Russian car made by communist now that’s a joke planes fall out of sky no unions.
Certainly good to know that "planes fall out of the sky(with) no unions".
Simply amazing.
I can just see and hear some bombastic, cigar chomping, union boss preaching this kind of BS to a social hall full of his functionally illiterate "brothers and sisters".
Union mindlessness and stupidity are alive and well in some places where there is absolutely no perception of the 21st century's world economy.

You have a very unique car - 1 of 1. Hopefully.
There is no excuse for this. I can understand some stuff getting by QC, but that is so obvious I almost believe it's some type of early April fool joke.
Should be an easy fix. Congrats on your new C8 - it's beautiful!
The body color option on the accents is not a new option. It has been offered for several years in the previous C7 Gen cars.

Glad you pointed this out. So, there is a plausible reason for this to occur and be missed by QC.
Those of us with any age on our bones know only too well the ills suffered by us all from union protections. When we hear nothing but how great unions are from union members we realize those voices are not the ones that will correct the problems within. My home state is an 'at will' state. You don't correct a problem, you don't get to stick around to cause it again. That system works fairly well. The sweat shops of the 1840's is long past. Unions seriously need to disappear. Not only have I been a union facrep but I was one of five that negotiated a union contract with a major defense contractor. I have witnessed some of the best damn paid liars on my side of the table as well as across the table. I was not able to accomplish all that I had wished for while representing my coworkers. I did get repulsed by several folks over the course of negotiations. If union members really knew what goes on behind closed doors with different workforce tradeoffs they wouldn't be so gungho union either. I will never subject myself to sit at a table with folks like that again. You want to know how I really feel?

"facrep" just means NATCA
Having been on both sides of the house in ATC, I totally agree with everything you said. HOWever...how do you really feel? LOL
well if you believe in Adam smith and Milton then you would say what the market will pay them. The Union does not allow the market to operate at the most efficient level.
My guess with this issue is it is cheaper for the car to arrive at the dealer with the mistake, fix it in the back end then stopping the line or putting the car off to the side. just a guess.
Maybe or maybe someone else got his doors and have Red on the door and Black on the body. Still hard to believe the factory messed this up and it got the go ahead to be shipped.
Maybe...QC thought it to be another option? I’m serious. Mine will be red as well..but I’d think for a sec to keep the only car like this. Maybe not...
This afternoon I got a call from my dealership that my car had just arrived. My wife and I were there in 15 minutes to witness the unveiling. It's a beautiful car, but somehow the EFY option for body color accents was recognized on the main body, but not the doors. The car was made with the boomerang accent body color on the main body, but carbon flash metallic on the door portion. The dealer is checking with GM on how to resolve this issue while the service department performs the PDI. I can't believe it passed QC in Bowling Green when it's obvious the colors don't match. What's wrong with this picture?
Update 12/08/20. Yesterday the sales manager of the dealership I bought the car from called me to let me know that GM had overnighted replacement door trim pieces in Torch Red. I shot down there, grabbed the FedEx boxes and took them straight to my detailer to have them ceramic coated prior to installation. Later in the day I dropped off the newly ceramic finished parts and my car for installation this morning. Around 10:30 this morning the service manager called me to let me know they had one door done, but they couldn't replace both sides because GM shipped two trim panels for one side of the car, not one for each side. All I could do is laugh at the situation and at the comedy of errors on GM's part. The Chevrolet dealership here in Golden, CO has been very helpful and completely apologetic even though they have no control over the initial assembly error, or that GM shipped two trim pieces for one side of the car. They even courtesy delivered the car to an appointment I had with the window tint shop about a mile away from them so I wouldn't have to get a ride from my wife there and back, twice.
The detailer didn’t notice that the two pieces he Ceramic Coated were identical? LOL
No, but full disclosure neither did I.
When I dropped them off on the sales managers desk at the dealership I set them down with one pointing one direction and the other (now obviously upside down) pointing the other and thought I was seeing a left and right. My detailer specifically told me not to touch the newly ceramic coated painted portions so I didn't handle them except to take them inside. The trim pieces are not just an overlay, it's the complete component including the electric switch for the door opening mechanism.
Please advise! My week old 2022 had the Body Color Exterior Accents option.
Delivered to me with DRIVER'S SIDE ONLY lower trim piece in GREY. Other three trim pieces are BLUE.
My dealer had no luck with getting a replacement part. Chevy said for me to send the bad piece to them for painting in Bowling Green. So now, I'll be driving around in a brand new C8 that's missing a piece of trim. It looks awful!
Do you think I should take the piece to a professional body shop and have it painted or take a chance and send it to the factory?
Respectfully, this is one of those situations where “pictures or it didn’t happen” definitely applies. If this happened to my C8 I’d document it, tell the dealer to order the right part and put it on when it arrives. And keep the existing part to go with the car if/when you sell it.

They just keep legalizing pot and people just keep not giving a f**
I don't know. I was thinking someone drank a 40 oz'er on their lunch break. Can't trust those alcoholics you know. Some of them need a little nip in the morning just to get going. Then again it could have been a pill popper as well.
