I just saw a post on you tube that the Z06 will be delayed until 2023. If true I guess that fits with the C8 journey so far. Hey what's another year or two or five?
... and this news came in the form of click-bait youtube videos based on random internet forum speculation of 60 seconds worth of heresay information over ten minutes? When Chevy announces it, I'll listen.

I guess we both saw the same video, only that I came here looking for info before I clicked it.

You don't understand, Chevrolet confided in some clown making YouTube videos, I'm sure it's a solid source.
Funny because there’s also a guy from GM on the Facebook forum who says they are releasing the info June 2021. Rumors. Rumors everywhere ...... Nobody really knows yet.

So...you just did your part by starting a thread, based on a rumor, by SOME guy who has NO idea...
The internet...where NOT to get information.
Part came from people stating GM will want to fulfill many of the backed up stingray orders before moving on..
IF thats true then what I need all of you to do is Cancel your orders so we can get our Z06 faster
Hmmm.... Stingray: $59,995
Z06: $85,000+ probably...
Yep, let's hold off on that Z06 and make more of the $25,000 CHEAPER car.
"People", you'll find, usually have NO idea what they're talking about.
Chevrolet will introduce the Z06 AS SOON AS THEY POSSIBLY CAN.
Let’s be honest. It would be stupid to release the Z06 anytime soon when the C8 is red hot. We all love the next hot thing but business wise it would be that just wouldn’t make sense!

The guy who posted that video really needs to sit down and review all of his past videos of the C8 Z06, he doesn't know if he's coming or going talks out of both ends.

So, it would be "stupid" to release a car that will sell for $25,000 more (at least) than the base car?
The C7 Stingray was hot as a pistol in 2014. Guess what GM introduced in 2015?
The C6 was hot as a pistol in 2005. Guess what GM introduced in 2006?
Given the choice between selling 40,000 C8 Stingrays in a year or selling 32,000 Stingrays and 8,000 Z06's in the same year, which scenario would YOU choose? They will still sell 40,000 C8's to 40,000 happy people. The second scenario nets GM $200 MILLION dollars more.
The Z06 will be released just as soon as it can possibly be released.
Zo6 will do well regardless. So why put it out now when you have a hot product you can barely get to customers now. Yes it would be stupid to release now when stingray in doing better than well!

This could be good news or bad. bad for everyone waiting for one and want one asap.. good for people like me who knows impatient people will back out thus driving the patient ones up the list!!!

Because you would miss out on a year of sales. Remember there are plenty of people that will not buy a base model corvette. Waiting just limits the total number of sales overall which is why the C7and C6 z06 was released even though the base model sold very well in the first year.
How can something be "delayed" when it hasn't even been announced? Saying "it might be delayed" is like saying its a rumor of a rumor.
It can be delayed internally. Just because they haven’t announced it yet to the public doesn’t mean the announcement date couldn’t have changed. Only the people involved in the project know obviously but it’s certainly possible for something that have been announced yet to be delayed. What kind of ridiculous statement is that?

This is just wrong. Just because a Z06 could be 25k more (base to base) from a Stingray doesn't mean GM is pocketing the difference. The only way they could possibly pocket the full 25k difference (or whatever the price difference is) is if they literally rebadged the Stingray and changed nothing about the car and even then that rebadge would cost them something
You can't just use the MSRP difference of two different models and say the manufacturer will profit the difference, thats incredibly false.

Agreed. I'm one of those people. If i buy a C8 it will be a Z06/ZR1. Postponing that model doesn't mean I'm going out and buying a base C8. It means I'll continue to wait until i decide it's no longer worth it and take my 120k ish elsewhere. I'm sure i'm not alone.

The reason is because one doesn’t canabalize the other. That’s why. It’s an addition to the base car not an upgrade replacement. If there was no price differential then you guys would be correct but since there’sa large price delta for the better car one rarely eats into the other. In fact the margins are better on z06 so gm wants to make both ASAP. Which is why they have never waited longer than necessary to release the z. Is why they won’t wait now unless there are supply line issues or other covid bullshit in the way delaying it. They aren’t intentionally delaying it cause base car so hot. These aren’t iPhones set to replace last years iPhone.

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
