Default One week BG shutdown

I just received this from Shane at the NCM:BGAP (Bowling Green Assembly Plant) has just announced a suspension of production for the week of 2/1 due to supply chain issues. Due to recent delays and this shutdown, the new anticipated completion date of your car is 2/12. If your previously scheduled tentative appointment does not fall at least 2 weeks beyond this date, we will need to reschedule.

Not surprised. This is now the 5th COVID-19 related shutdown (4 of them due to parts shortages from suppliers).

if we had a tpw of 2-8 does that mean it gets pushing back to 2-15? or that they knew this and everyone tpw is still good?

Possible Reason???
Containers Lost at Sea..Goods lost at sea after storm throttles Long Beach-bound container ship

https://lbpost.com/news/fireworks-ot...container-ship

The ONE Apus, a 1,200-foot-long Japanese-flagged container ship built in 2019, was crossing the Pacific Ocean from Yantian, China, near Hong Kong, en-route to Long Beach when it encountered a storm cell on Nov. 30.

The ship was hit by gale-force winds and large swells approximately 1,600 miles northwest of Hawaii, with weather maps showing the area was experiencing wave heights in excess of 50-feet at the time.

Over 1,800 containers were swept overboard, including 64 dangerous goods containers, consisting of 54 with fireworks, eight containing batteries and two with liquid ethanol.

Maersk Ship Loses 750 Containers Overboard in Pacific Ocean

Rough seas during a trip from China to Los Angeles caused the loss, the latest in a series of weather-related accidents at sea affecting millions of dollars in cargo

https://www.wsj.com/articles/maersk-...an-11611255703

The company said the Maersk Essen, which has capacity for more than 13,000 containers, lost an estimated 750 of them on January 16 about halfway through its trans-Pacific sailing from China’s Port of Xiamen.

The One Apus container vessel, operated by Singapore-based Ocean Network Express, lost around 2,000 boxes in November when it hit a storm off Hawaii on its way to Long Beach, Calif., from Yantian, China. The ship eventually sailed to Kobe, Japan, with hundreds of tipped-over containers sitting precariously onboard

It is more than a "hint" because this isn't a new situation. Periodic shutdowns should be expected through Summer.

Sorry to hear this, but should not come as a surprise. We went thru this and other delays with MY2020 without the benefit of the second shift, so hopefully what they learned over the first year delays will better prepare them for this years production. The pandemic is probably still the biggest threat to messing up the parts chain for all manufacturers. Roll with it as it is surely worth the wait guys!

Yeah, so was I, so much for that! Good thing I didn't discard my "patience pill" bottle! After a year, what's another week.

My TPW was 2/1, and the car was supposed to be completed on the 3rd. Now it's estimated to be completed on the 11th.
Museum delivery went from 2/17 to 3/1.

Lets hope it doesn't get pushed back any more... I was so close!
