50 foot waves! wow. So far, no ships with cars have sunk that I know of, but probably a lot of components have gone underwater.

I wonder how many containers go to the bottom of the seas every year? there must be a registry. must also be good for salvage companies, depending on admiralty laws.

The pandemic is probably still the biggest threat to messing up the parts chain for all manufacturers. Roll with it as it is surely worth the wait guys!
Second shift started in August 31, 2020. At that time, 8,856 C8's had been built. After the start of two shifts, another 10,500+ 2020 C8s were built. Two of the previous plant shutdowns due to supply issues were when 2 shifts were operating (week of Oct 12 and part of the week of Nov 9).

Something other than a normal "Supply Issue" is going on here. My car was completed on 1/12. My dealer received notice that the car is now on "Hold" as well is seven of his other completed cars. Tale going around claims that a batch of bad connecting rods are a problem being looked into.

An issue hardly unique to Vettes right now.

C8 production is reliant on Coronavirus success through the United States AND Mexico. Assembly in Kentucky. Contents from across North America.

And it’s a highly technological vehicle—technology whose “brains” —chips—are in very short supply globally.

ironically, this keeps raising the price of the C8 in resale market, as supply keeps getting constrained. About half the original plan.

Wonderful. And this chip shortage isn't getting better for the next several months. And the BETTER the economy does--the WORSE the chip shortage becomes. So sick of this s--t.

My C8, VIN 4431, was 3400 yesterday and moved up to 3800 today. It seems your C8 should be produced Jan. 29th at the latest.

He made no mention of a date change. It was the first time that he gave me a date.

Elk Lake blue, Z51, HTC, 3LT lift

Said that it would be here in early March, but late March is fine as this is Toronto area after all.

Bad Connecting Rods? My car was made on 1/7/21. VIN 2147. Do you have any more info than what your dealership told you?

The shutdown is due to the lack of transmission housings. The supplier out of NC has been having a lot of problems but as of 6pm today they were back up and running after a week of no production.
