Ever year we had a technology meeting with managers from our Canadian and Brazilian companies attending. In Brazil the person changed every year. The fellow the year of 17% mortgage interests here said he was leaving and going into banking like the other Brazilian mangers who left! Only way to preserve his savings! He said, like your situation when folks don't trust you can pay back your debt they will only buy your bonds if the rate is much higher. It doesn't go up in small amounts. IF at 10% they want say 15%. When there is a question of possible default it quickly doubles again until it gets to 50% like us when the only folks buying your bonds believe you will default and are gambling they can make a profit before!

And free money in the mail promotes socialism and communism. There are thousands and thousands of companies begging for workers and the dead beats on the dole are happier to sit on their *** at home and wait for their government check to come. It's pathetic and sad to see a country that was built on hard work and grit to be taken down by a bunch of entitled losers. Just locally here, John Deere announced they need 1,500 workers to build all the products they have orders for and can't find anyone to work.

I'm #823 on the list for MacMulkin, plan on selling my 2016 C7 right before my c8 is scheduled to be delivered next year. Currently have 28k miles on it and it's in excellent condition. Kelly blue book values it at 48-54k, wonder how much carmax will buy it for

It was announced today that the price increase will be $1200 on the base prices. This from GM authority: The price tag of $62,195 is an increase of $1,200 compared to base-model 2021 Chevy Corvette Coupes, which start at $60,995, including destination freight charge. Meanwhile, 2022 Corvette Convertible models start at $69,695, including destination freight charge, which is also an increase of $1,200 compared to equivalent 2021 model-year vehicles, with 2021 Corvette Convertibles starting at $68,495, including destination freight charge. Note that prices listed do not include tax, title, license, dealer fees, or optional equipment.

Highly unusual situation. A highly acclaimed "$60,000 affordable to the masses supercar"--that ISN'T that price and isn't really THAT affordable. In the REAL world with REAL money--$60k is the C7... NOT the C8! Talk about having your cake and eating it too if you're GM!
Here's the deal. WE have VOLUNTARILY raised the price of the C8. NOT GM.
Fact: the AVERAGE sold C7, latest model, came in (quite ironically) at about $60,000.
Fact: Buyers lined up to buy the new C8 at an average price OF $75,000 TO $78,000.
Fact: The average new C8 is loaded to the hilt: now averaging $86,200 in Feb--BEFORE the price hike.
The C8 is now typically 43% more expensive than the C7 it succeeded. Actual cars sold. Not a silly advertised base price. Affordable?? Hmm...compared with Lambo, sure. But really???
See what's happening? The price is rising big time. "$60K affordable car" is the c7. NOT the C8.
GM is letting US increase the price--they don't need to.
So...watch for a VERY MODEST base hike, with modest increases in popular options. Its just too intoxicating for GM to be able to pound its chest at $60,000 when the real price is 43% higher, Why ruin that game?
WE will push the average cost to just under $90K. GM will continue to gloat about a maybe $62K car--that few customers buy.

Now, OP -- some predictions about the US stock market, please?

I don't know where some folks get (make up) these pricing ideas. GM doesn't have to raise prices?? Heck I am getting cost increases from my vendors every month. Same ones have increased several times. Have folks looked at the price of lubber etc? I'm reminded of the Jimmy Carter days where home mortgage interest was 17% and we were sooo lucky to get an assumable at 14%! Heck we were raising our prices monthly just to keep up. We're not there yet but will be soon IMO.
Had some of this BS C7 to C8 early on. This info is from a post I made then:
Want the least expensive Vette with what 75% folks buy, an automatic trans? Get a C8 with a "far better than a 'slushbox' A8; the DCT C8 is about the same price!

- The early 2014 M7 C7 Z51 was $53,800 MSRP
- The early 2014 M7 C7 Z51 with NPP was $54,995 MSRP
- The 2019 M7 C7 Z51 with NPP = $61,995MSRP (big increase from 2014)
- The 2019 A8 C7 Z51 with NPP = $63,180 MSRP (~75% had automatic)
- The C8 Z51 comes with NPP = $63,900 MSRP (DCT better auto than A8)

Who Really Cares?
The new mid-engine is a "master-piece" of a machine at a price many can afford. It ushers in an entirely new and much younger audience/buyer which will propel sales naturally. Bang for the buck, my new HTC is so much better than any Corvette I have owned. My "older" models are not anywhere close to being in the same league. For the price, whether naturally inflated by the purchaser (read options), by the manufacturer or likely certain, inflation that America faces with a new administration, the C8 is an outstanding "buy!" Where else can the consumer/enthusiast go to find this package at anywhere near the price? Value-100%, drivability 100%, handling 100%, fun factor 150% and yes, pricing 100%...Corvette has hit a home run with the new C8! ENJOY!!!
