SOS Dealer can’t change my order even though it’s at 1100 status?
So at our local dealer who is our family friend and I am watching over his shoulder as he tries to change my 1100 order that has been entered as an SRE since October.
I am trying to change the color and to a HTC and I’m watching him try and change my order and the workbench just keeps saying “no longer accepting sold orders for 2021”
anyone have any ideas? I’m their April allocation so trying to get this figured out
I have confirmed that I have been SRE since October and it’s been the same order number the entire time. Also confirmed I’m at 1100 and not 2000/3000

You guys are confusing the memo that went out saying dealers cannot except any more 2021 customer orders (they can still place a stock dealer order).

Chevy is indeed no longer accepting sold orders for 2021. At this point, your order will probably be moved into a 2022 allocation (status 2000) anyways. Your dealer should probably just wait for the 2022 workbench to open up and then redo your order 1100 there.

What are you trying to change exactly? Maybe something is on constraint or is it one of the colors that are going away?

Someone like Zymurgy will chime in but plus the above response, if you're at 1100 you will not get built in this model year. That's my understanding. Wait for Zym to chime in.

I changed my configuration 7 or 8 times after starting at 1100 with an SRE order, and my dealer had no trouble modifying it, HOWEVER, I did get a new order number after certain changes (like color), but the new order had CHANGE at the top so that GM would not mistake it for a brand new order I suppose.
I wonder if that's why he is getting the "no longer accepting orders....." message. The system can't create a new order number as a result of the change because they have cut them off.
I also agree with another poster. When this type of thing happened with 2020 orders at 1100, my understanding is they had to be re-entered into the system as 2021 orders......

That is incorrect. The OP is part of their dealers April allocation, barring another shutdown at the plant there is no reason to think he won't get a 2021.

I just change a 2021 sold order on Saturday. The customer went from Red Mist to Silver and also changed the interior from Morello to red. He also went from a 3LT to 2LT and was at 1100 event code. I made the changes with no problem.
If for some reason your dealer can't change your order just enter a new order as a stock unit and use your allocation for that order

I just placed 5 sold 1100 event code orders this week. The loophole in what GM said you can still enter stock orders and use your allocations on them.

Not true Bill most people on this forum don't understand what that GM memo said. GM will not except anymore new sold orders all of the sold orders already in the system will still be built as long as the dealer has allocations.
I just placed 5 sold 1100 event code orders this week. The loophole in what GM said you can still enter stock orders and use your allocations on them.

My hope is that, one way, or using the dealer stock unit the OP gets his car. Thanks again!

Maybe so. But do you know if there are still openings to build 1 more HTC? This order is being changed from a coupe to an HTC. Also, see Razor's post which may raise some valid points. Heisnuts has a good idea, but how easily accessible is the dist. sales rep to the end customer, the OP, unless gotten thru the dealer?

I was just wondering if you were trying to change it to one of the 2021 colors that they are phasing out right now (or already did). Sounds like that's not the issue.
