2022 Color - Opinions Please
#21
I guess we ll see, I m betting on a mid to late July reveal with several ZO6 s at Carlisle. It’s toooo profitable a model for GM to wait another year for the release. I was second on the list for a ‘15 ZO6 which I ordered in August/Sept. Of ‘14 I think, and took delivery in early Feb of the following year, which was 2015. No way do they go for 2 years with the base model only, and then ‘23 ZO6 followed by ‘24 or ‘’25 ZR1 and ZORA…. With all the EVs coming, I’m betting we see the ZO6 sooner than later. Just my opinion and you all know what they say about opinions….

Since you are soliciting opinions, of the two shown, I would go with the Amplify Orange. I'd definitely go with black calipers and a black interior keeping the orange seatbelts. I'd also go with the stock white stitching and buy a $2.00 orange dye pen from Michael's. Super-easy to do; just takes patience. I'm not a fan of red calipers on orange cars.
Frankly, I don't understand Accelerate Yellow with a red interior and red calipers. As mentioned, looks like a Ronald McDonald version. Those two colors just don't work for me, especially with AY swaying to the blue side leaving a highlighter tone. Again, just personnel opinion. A look at my avatar points out we are miles apart on color combos.
In the end, it's your car/your money and something you need to feel good about. Luckily for all of us, Chevy gives us plenty of options to personalize our cars. What we all need to remember is to respect others' choices.
Good Luck!

I'm a former 20 Sebring Orange Coupe with Tan interior guy and stay away. In person I feel it clashes.
Now I'm a 21 Sebring Orange HTC with black interior owner (see pic below) and I'm trading it in for the 22 Amplify Orange HTC as I'd prefer the lighter shade of Orange. As much as it pains me I will likely go Sky Cool Grey interior for the contrast as I don't feel GM makes anything suitable. The standard black interior with Silver stitching is bland and I want a flashy color...

The C8 looks great in all colors, but for the two you chose I would go with a black interior.

@swdl26 Welcome to the forum.
I think in either exterior color, the C8 will look stunning. While I was waiting for my allocation, I spent a ton of time on the configurator and my build evolved over time, your's might too. Have fun.
Cheers
- Amplify Orange: For interior, I would not select tan. My preference would be Sky Cool Gray or Black.
- Accelerate Yellow Metallic: For interior, I would suggest Sky Cool Gray or Black Interior. I am one of the very few here that ordered AYM, who knows GM might sunset that. My AWM build in signature below, my TPW date is 7/5.

The OPs pics look a lot like 2021 colors to me. Trying to look at the 2022 configurator. It’s super slow and crash-ey at the moment.

I personally am not a fan of the Orange as a first choice, but if it was, it would have a black interior! For the Accelerate Yellow, I love it, but definitely not with any red in the interior, that just looks heinous IMHO.
Personally, if you like the yellow, which I do as well, I would not have any black added to it, IE; Nacelles, roof, stripes, boomerangs etc. That gives it a total Bumblebee look and I dislike that, but that's me! There is enough black for contrast with a black interior, the tires, the lower rear panel & the the front black accents.
I am going with the Accelerate Yellow HTC with body colored accents, bright silver Trident wheels, bright red calipers and 3LT Black interior with yellow stitching and seatbelts. I have seen this combo on a Ferrari and a Porsche and it's totally Exotic!
Here is what it looks like and how my order will go in!

Hello,
This is my first post. I'm on the list to purchase a 2022 HTC and was hoping you all could help me decide between the new Amplify Orange and Accelerate Yellow. Do you think the exterior/interior color combinations I've chosen look good? Please let me know what you think.

If I were ordering a Stingray again today I think I would go for the Yellow Stingray R look minus the sky cool gray interior and just get black with yellow stitching or if they have two tone black and yellow... But as it stands I'm thrilled with the car I have...

I'm also not a fan of either color combo, however the orange/saddle combo is fairly popular among sportscars in general.
As far as the yellow/red combo goes you better be sure you will like it forever because if you ever need to sell the C8 you will practically have to give it away with that color combo.

Since you asked for opinions...
I have a problem with the wheels, but not because of the reasons already stated on this forum many times!
The base open-spoke wheels and the carbon flash machined-edge wheels suffer from the same problem. They're asymmetrical wheels, but the same wheels are used on both sides of the car. Photos show it best:
Driver's Side Rear - edge tabs pointing into forward rotation with largest portion of spokes leading
Passenger Side Rear - edge tabs pointing away from forward rotation with smallest portion of spokes leading
The black wheels in the OP stand out even more than what's in my photos because of the machined edge and color contrast. Maybe people don't remember what the other side of the car looked like as they walk around it?
It seems to me that if one way is aesthetically preferred, then the other side is suboptimal. Personally, I think the driver's side is correct.

You asked...I am a yellow fan. I love yellow...when it's right. I did not like Millennium Yellow. Love, love love Velocity Yellow. Both are obsolete. I wanted Accelerate Yellow from the day it was introduced. Just because it was yellow. My very first eyes on Accelerate Yellow it was dusk, lighting was fading fast, but it looked a little odd to me, but I marched on wanting it. After all it's YELLOW! A few days later, I saw Accelerate Yellow, Red Mist and Elkhart Lake Blue all in one place and in the sun. It only took a few seconds to decide what I had longed for is out. Accelerate Yellow is too green for my taste.
If I did chose Accelerate Yellow, it would not be with a red interior. Probably two-tone 2LT natural.
Remember that opinions are like rectums...Everyone's got one, but do not really want to hear from them all. But you asked.

I appreciate the feedback. I decided on going with the new amplify orange with the two tone sky cool gray and black seats.
Ignore the trident wheels in the pics below. I ordered a set of AEROLARRI Wheels:
20x9.5 Front and 21x12.5 Rear with a Black Ghost Glaze Polished finish
New Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires - Front 255/30/R20 / Rear 325/25/R21
