Default 8/22/21~16+ C8 deliveries this week,great combos. Lemans/Z06*Mike Furman@Criswell*

~The Elephant in the room news has been announced...reveal date for the 2023 C8 Z06 is 10/26/21...production starting...most likely Late Summer 2022.
GM begins 2022 C8 production in the Sept 9th range. The car is the star. The C8 Corvette is all of it and the Z06 will be a race car with a license plate.
The lists are long the wait is difficult but the result is a world class sports car. Patience is needed. (required)

~Lemans this weekend. Back in 2011 and 2012 GM had a National Corvette sales contest and the prize was a trip to this great race in France.
I was fortunate enough to attend as a guest of GM and the experience was incredible. Put this race on your bucket list.

~I will be at the Corvettes at Carlisle event this coming week Wednesday-Saturday eve. I will have my Red Mist C8 2021 Convt on display
at the Ron Fellows Spring Mountain racetrack tent on the Midway infield. Come by and say hello.

~Some C8 deliveries from this week...

~Shmuel R. of Los Angeles, California flew in last night with his girlfriend Haley. He gifted his Father his 2006 Corvette and factory ordered this stunning Rapid Blue 2021 Corvette Z51 Convt with the Tension Blue/Twilight Blue interior.
I went over the Corvette from Convertible “top to bottom”. They have their cross country trip all mapped out and plan to do some sightseeing as they drive their new Chevrolet across the USA. A mere 3,000 miles in a week's time. Give them the Corvette wave if you spot them on the highway!

~Robert and Pam A. of Keller, Texas factory ordered their Red Mist 2021 Corvette coupe with Natural interior.
I had it drop-shipped for courtesy delivery to their local Chevrolet dealer in Grapevine, Texas. Here is an email from the lucky couple...”Pam and I have been very busy showing off “Lucy “and driving her! What an amazing vehicle! “Lucy” fits right into my life motto: Growing Old Is Mandatory, Growing Up Is Optional!! At 73, Lucy makes me feel young again!
Thank you very much!!!!
Robert and Pam A. Keller, Texas

~Tommy J. of Dade City, Florida factory ordered his Torch Red 2021 Corvette Z51 coupe and I had it drop-shipped for courtesy delivery at his local Chevrolet dealer in Plant City, FL. The Natural interior looks great with Torch Red paint!
Email from Tommy...”Hi Mike,
I picked up the car from the courtesy dealer in Plant City, FL; great to work with. Man, this thing is awesome! I have owned 5th, 6th, and 7th generation Corvettes. I didn't think Corvette could get much better than the C7, which I love, but this is leaps better. My 6 year old son, Robby, is a car nut and yells out "Corvette" every time he sees one one the road. He accompanied my wife and me to the dealership and he was even more excited when he saw our car for the first time than I was. Thanks for your assistance!”
Tommy J. Of Dade City, Fl

~Steve G. of Frisco, Texas factory ordered his Torch Red 2021 Corvette Convt and I had it drop shipped at his Chevrolet dealer near him in Richardson, TX for courtesy delivery. Everything transpired smoothly and Steve gave his new C8 the big thumbs up!

~Wayne and William from Glen Burnie, Maryland ordered this Torch Red 2021 Corvette coupe and had Criswell service install the high wing spoiler. Today was delivery day.

~Fred and Ethelyn K. of Las Vegas, Nevada had me order their RedMist 2021 Corvette coupe to be drop-shipped for courtesy delivery to a Phoenix, Arizona Chevrolet dealer and yesterday they flew down and drove their new Corvette home. Two super nice folks are proud new C8 owners!

~Dave and Deb S. of Salisbury, Maryland have owned a C3 and a C5, and today they took delivery of their new C8, the first new Corvette that they have ordered! Check out their stunning Elkhart Lake Blue 2021 Corvette Z51 convertible with the two-tone Sky cool gray and Black interior!!! Give them a big Corvette wave!

~N.H. of Cockeysville, Maryland factory ordered his very first Corvette and today was delivery day. The rain in the forecast wasn't going to deter him from adding his Silver Flare/Red interior 2021 Corvette Convertible to his stable which will sit right next to his 1968 Shelby GT 500!

~Robert M. of Scottsdale, Arizona placed his Corvette factory order with me and I had it drop-shipped for courtesy delivery at his local Chevrolet dealer in Phoenix, Arizona. Check out Robert’s new Silver Flare 2021 Corvette Z51 Convertible with Adrenaline red interior. The Carbon Flash full-length stripes really pop!!

~Tony and Candy D. of Poquoson, Virginia factory ordered a Torch Red 2021 Corvette coupe. Tony is an Ambassador for his local Corvette club and a lifetime member at the Corvette Museum. Check out Tonys “Van” shoes that his wife special ordered for him!

~Ed W. of Roanoke, Virginia took a train up yesterday with his wife and came in today with his sister-in-law to take delivery of his 4th Corvette. His others were C4, C5, C6, and now a C8! Today they drove away in a stunning Arctic White with black top and Red interior 2021 Corvette Z51 Convertible. Ed plans on some slick Black wheels to complete his 4th Corvette. Super nice folks so give them the Corvette wave!!

~Brian W. of Elk Grove, California factory bordered his 2nd Corvette from me to be prepped at Criswell and shipped via Plycar trucking clear across the country to his California home. Check out his new Torch Red 2021 Corvette Coupe with 3LT and red stitching! Plycar trucking just arrived for the magic carpet ride West!

~John B. of Lewiston, PA factory ordered from me this Rapid Blue with two tone Sky cool gray interior for his new 2021 Corvette Z51 coupe. Great combo!!

~Ron B. of Lewistown, Pennsylvania placed his factory order for an Arctic White with Adrenaline Red / Black interior for his 2021 Corvette Z51 coupe. Equipment list: GT2 buckets, bright red calipers, 2LT pkg, CF Painted wheels, and Z51 pkg.

~Hugh G. of State College, PA chose Accelerate Yellow with the sky cool gray/black/ strike yellow interior for his new 2021 Corvette Convertible. This Corvette is a car show all by itself! Miles of smiles guaranteed. This is one sleek ride!

~Louis I. of Lewistown, PA chose one of my favorite color combos from the old muscle car days, Black with Tension Blue/ Twilight blue dipped interior. Looks great on his new 2021 Corvette coupe!!

Congratulations to the new C8 owners! Thanks for the news about the upcoming 2023 Z06. It will be here before we realize it. That's going to be one heck of a car - both from a performance AND styling perspective.

Throwback photos are great this week, as per usual. My favorite one is the shot with the C2 being filled with "detergent gasoline" and it probably drank quite a bit of high-test back in the day.

Remember how most cars back in the '60s & '70s used to have the fuel door in the center? No worries about being on the correct side of the gas pump! I had a Cadillac Sedan deVille and an Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight like that. The fuel receptacle was underneath the license plate by the back bumper.

I doubt any new cars or trucks are made that way anymore - probably for safety & emissions reasons.

Hard to believe ole Hoss could get in a C1 Corvette as big as he was and small as they were.

Wally and Eddie with their new friends from College.

As a kid I remember walking through the MK back lot full of C3's until eventually as a late teen looking for my first C3.

I remember the 1986 MK CE edition Corvettes. Back in 1986 I test drove a new Dark Red Corvette convertible.

Great photos this week of happy new C8 owners. Very happy for them. Excited to leave for Carlisle in a few days . I used to love to search the swap meet for hard to find parts for my '68. If you haven't been put it on your bucket list. My favorite throwback this week is a beautiful C2.

I think this is a picture from an old Corvette News magazine from the seventies and that she was the President of a Corvette club at the time if I remember correctly.

No doubt! It'd be awesome to have a time machine so that you could 'travel back' and purchase a brand new Buick GSX, big-block Corvette, Hemi 'Cuda, Plymouth GTX or an LS6 Chevelle SS454 - just the way it you wanted - and then bring it back to 2021 with you. Talk about a return on investment. Wow!

Yeah, one can dream, eh? It was amazing how someone could so easily 'custom order' a new car back then with so many trim levels, options, colors and special features. Cars could be picked out in an "a la carte" manner not so common nowadays. You didn't have to get leather seats if you wanted whitewall tires or get an FM radio in order to get cruise control, etc.
