Default Visible carbon roof panels

My car was just built this past week and apparently it was accidentally ordered with the visible carbon roof panel (C2Z). I’m worried that I’m not going to like the look of it and also the extra cost of it $2495. Does anyone know if this option comes with a body colored panel and a carbon panel? So 2 panels? If anyone has pictures of it real world would be appreciated too. Thanks

This will be the only roof that comes with the car. I like the look, but everyone has their own preferences.

I have that C2Z option on my car.('20)...The center of the panel is Carbon fiber. The outside edge that flows up from the windshield is body color. In my case it's Switchblade Silver. Beside the engine appearance package,it's the only CF option I was able to order with the car.

Hope someone posts a pic as asked. Found one and posted pic of my 2014 Z51 with Visible Carbon Fiber roof with WARNING!

Problem with visible carbon fiber is once you start, hard to stop! I got the OEM roof for my 2014 Z51. Then needed side skirts to stop rocks thrown by the front tires from marking my rocker panels. Found real CF side skirts- not cheap. Then added a real CF hood vent and aftermarket splitter with visible CF cloth on the outer layer. BUT the kicker for cost was the real carbon fiber cover for the chrome grill bar. After spending a lot for "Real CF" OEM roof, side skirts, hood vent cheap tape would not due. One company made the CF grill bar cover. Listed for $350 and got only a small discount!

I would definitely be concerned about the $$$$$. If you don't like the look, you can always get the glass roof. The dealer might tell you that you can take it as is or leave it and he will just put it in the showroom and sell it at 30K over MSRP. I would not let a roof stop me from taking possession. I would try to workout a deal with the dealer.

Default C2Z on Red Mist 2021

Here is a ‘roof top’ picture of my Z51’s – a Victory Red C6 (MZ6) with its smoked top and a 2021 Red Mist with the visible carbon fiber top (C2Z). I really like the continuation of the Red Mist along the sides of the top to connect with the windshield pillars. The interior of the C2Z is stunning with its stitching. For me, the C2Z was a must.

For the C7 all roofs were carbon fiber BUT only the option was visible carbon fiber. The others were made with a simpler process than having to assure the outer layer of carbon fiber cloth looked perfectly uniform. An article said IF in manufacture of the visible carbon fiber roof (the same vendor made both) showed visual quality issues they could just prime the roof and sell it as the standard roof! However I'm sure they just got that price.

Although a sunk investment if the OP doesn't like the look, have it painted!

That red mist is pretty much my exact car ordered except my spoiler and mirrors are supposed to be black. It looks good but that is one pricey roof! Thanks for the pic

C2Z is a single roof panel. C2M would be the dual roof package with visible carbon fiber and transparent roofs:

C2Z Roof panel, visible carbon fiber with body-color surround, removable
C2M Carbon Fiber Dual Roof Package, includes (CC3) transparent roof panel, (C2Z) visible carbon fiber with body-color surround roof panel and (SC7) Roof panel storage pouch, LPO, Genuine Corvette Accessory
I have the visible carbon fiber roof on my C8 and I love the look (had one on my C7 too).

CF roof alone is $2495. Both CF and body color option is $3495.

Is the visible CF roof actually a see through panel with the body color sides?

No, it is exposed carbon fiber (with rather expensive UV protectant clear coat). No such thing as see through carbon fiber.

It is beautiful isn't it?...I was thinking about the roof bow behind the panel, but all the ones I've seen have the carbon fiber going all the way across. I'd have to paint it because the cf on the edges would look ridiculous on my 'blade silver car....

OP, did the dealer give you the Workbench order to review before he finalized it? If the option was there, and you didn't notice the extra option and price, I think you have no choice but to pay for it. If the option wasn't there on what he gave you to review, tell him to suck it and have the parts department order the top you wanted and have it painted.

If you didn't review the order before it went final, shame on you. There's probably not much you can do in that case.

Is the $995 option only the see thru roof, or do you still get the body color roof too?

Only transparent roof.
Any option that comes with two roofs describes that with the word "dual":

Body-Color Dual Roof Package
$1,995

Carbon Fiber Dual Roof Package
$3,495

Transparent roof panel
$995

Visible carbon-fiber roof panel with body-color surround
$2,495

The first two come with two roofs, the second two are single roof.
