Default Hard Top Convertible

One of the options I like the most on the C8, is the Hard Top Convertible, that is be lowered onto the engine. I own a C6, but curious of someone that may own one, if the heat from the engine has any effect on the hardtop? I realize, time will tell all downsides, but curious about the early stages as well. I want to keep it in mind for possible future reference.

Engineers accounted for heat, been running mine for a year no issues. Long term? None have existed that long yet, but we can check back on this in say 7 years.

I’m curious as well. I’ve only owned mine for a week with as much top down driving as possible and the underside is always surprising not warm. Let’s see what it’s like in the Summer. If memory serves I think I read that air conditioning is actually pumped in between the top and engine cover.

5300 miles in 5 1/2 months, drive top down pretty much unless its raining. Live near Washington, DC, so summer was pretty hot. No visible issues so far.

There is definitely air flow between the top storage area and the interior. I carried a carryout pizza back there once (top up), and the smell of the pizza was very strong in the interior.

For those who’ve had theirs a while; Does it ever feel really warm?

I have not noticed anything like that on mine. Related to this, yes air flows through that area from the cabin, through the nacelles, but with the top down it will be fresh, not a/c air. I posted somewhere photos of the vent holes there, on the backside. They can be seen with the tonneau open.

Same here... Even if some issue surfaces it can be fixed. I would get the HTC no matter what. It's that good.

No, no, I don't do Dominos!

It's the perfect place to carry a pizza. A large flat area and it keeps the pizza warm!

Wonder how a HTC would work as a Dominoes delivery vehicle? Shure could get it there is 30 minutes or less!

nope, ride with the top down all the time, was concerned over putting PPF on the top due to heat, but the top never gets warm when retracted and driven.

With the insulation between the top and engine bay, I doubt it gets any hotter than sitting in strong sunlight.
