curious why you did not ask them after giving them 5000 of your money and what makes you think anyone here would know. The three big dealers have a wait of 12 -15 months. OTOH how much over msrp did they quote you that may have bearing as they may already have an allocation.

If you don't have anything informative to say, don't say anything.
As far as I know this is an information forum, and asking questions and getting to know others experiences is part of it.. I am a business man, and you don't need to worry about me knowing where my money is going.
Also they did give me a time line, my question was about others experience.

Melting Slicks
Check with dealer each week to see if the order has been placed and accepted by GM. Once accepted you will get an order number and you can track build by that after you receive. order numbers will be a six dig/num style ie: BME7GH

Most small dealers receive 1 allocation per month at most. And most small dealers have 20-30-??? orders lined up ahead of yours. Having a number on GM means nothing - dealer places orders from whoever they want. Decent dealers will follow their queue - others just sells positions on their queues for the highest bidder(?) so trust on your dealer is paramount. You may want to ask your dealer your position on their queue, confirm how many allocations they receive per month, how you can track progress and then you can estimate how long it will take. Your sales person will show ignorance and will not answer any of those questions. Or will make up anything you want to hear. And one suggestion is to get in writing the car will be sold to you at MSRP, but if you already made the deposit this is too late. Read the document you signed if any if your deposit is reimbursable or not. And giving the investment you are doing - 80K-100K - you may consider hiring a lawyer to review the terms and conditions for this sale if any. Don't sign anything you don't fully agree or fully understand. Own experience waiting for my car for 12 months already, and number 4 on the queue. Or pay up $20K/$30K and you can have an allocation now from a dealer in Cleveland/Oh (just call around and you will find the one I'm talking about - they will sell you their month allocation and are very straightforward on their message!) - you can build anything you want at MSRP + MAP. And have the car in 2 months or so.

Why wait?
Live in Georgia but drove to Michigan where i found over a dozen options for C8’s. Several dealers had multiple C8’s to look at. Bought one way over MSRP. Came home and put a deposit on one for MSRP. Will drive this one for the months I’m waiting and still sell it for a profit once mine comes in. I get my cake and eat it too!

Dealer inventory
I placed a deposit with MacMulken on December 27, 2021. I was told I was number 1381 on the list. I was also told they get 120-150 corvettes a month so my wait would be 10-12 months. This all sounded ok. However, as of this past Monday, the 8th of February (they update the list on Mondays as some of you know) I was at number 1345. So, in a month and one half I've moved up 36 spots. I know there was a shut down at the Bowling Green plant over the holidays and there was some reduced manufacturing capacity resulting from the tornado, but that has been remedied for at least a month. The info on the web states that the plant is kicking out 120-150 corvettes a day. They will be stopping production of the 2022 in either March (MM) or May (the web) and begin producing 2023s. My question is does the progress of my status on the list seem correct? Thanks

Order number
As soon as you put the deposit you get an order number. I put a deposit last week on an Escalade and i have my order number. It’s the status that matters. I’m at 1100, ordered but not accepted by GM yet. 3330 is what you’re looking for. Go to the Chevy website and start a chat to see the status

Some of the answers given you are not quite correct.
You DO NOT get an order number from many of the dealers when you place your order.
CIOCCA, MACMULKIN and CRISWELL the big 3, do not give you an order number until
they give you an allocation code 2000 which is running around a year from the day you put up a deposit,
sometimes less but sometimes more. BUT you will get a car from them !!!!!!!!!
The dealers that do give you an order number in the beginning are putting you in the GM system at code 1100
which means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING unless you get an allocation from them many months down the road,
and that may never happen.
It is all about 2 things:
1. USUALLY to get a C8 custom ordered at MSRP with no games being played, you are looking at 9 months if you are REALLY lucky,
to 18 months if you are unlucky - to get your C8..
2.USUALLY to custom order and receive a C8 in a matter of 3 to 6 months you are going to pay over MSRP from $5,000 [unlikely] to around $20,000[ very common].
A CHEVY zone manager in a major state just told me that he knows of NO DEALERS that have extra allocations in hand right now that are selling their
C8's at MSRP. He does not like it, but he said that the only way to get a C8 in a matter of months is to pay a lot over MSRP.
As you ordered your C8 in january, the above points should answer your question, but unless you are truly the exception, you are looking at about 1 year at MSRP.
Revette was very fortunate to be able to order in mid august and be looking at an april TPW and early May dealer delivery

There is a long standing thread to track orders at MM in the general forum. I would suggest that you follow progress there, as people talk about list movement from drop outs to allocations, policy changes, etc.

MacMulken C8 customer waitlist
Budoist, Thanks for this information. I moved 4 places this past week, from 1127 to 1123 on MM,s wait list. Not sure how to reconcile MM's claim of 120-150 C8s per month with the movement on the list. Your information regarding the big allocation in February does help explain the big jump I experienced in Mid February. Is there any way to verify a dealer's allocation? Currently, I remain hopeful of landing a car in 2022 as originally represented.
