Default C8 Resell Values

Have resell values significantly dropped from where they were? Due to health reasons I found it necessary to sell my 21 Z51 2LT. I listed it for sale here on the forum for what I thought was a fair price and didn't receive even one inquiry

Forum members are typically the MSRP crowd. I'd get an offer from CarMax, Corvette World, your local Chevrolet dealership, etc.

Resale values are going to be tough in Athens Alabama. Good point about going to the Chevy Dealer and asking to sell it back. Huntsville, AL isn't terribly far, and that's where I'd go, or to Carmax there.

I bought a used car from Athens AL years ago. Seller said nobody had a lot of money there and the car was for sale for months, as he tried to get his figure. I got mine, and had it shipped nearly a thousand miles home. Good luck.

Prices have dropped some . Here on the forum members tend to list high than lower their price.$91,000 is still high , drop to 89,000 you should get some nibbles. Good luck car looks sweet. This is only my opinion

While I'm part of the MSRP only crowd, plenty of C8's have sold on the forum for well over MSRP. That being said I've noticed C8's are sitting longer at lots and taking a while to be sold above MSRP. Maybe 10k over now vs the 15 or even 20 they were selling for before.

Could be that you listed it for a price that is too high. And sometimes it just takes a while for a car to sell, with nothing being wong with the car, it's jjust the way the market goes.

I agree what others have stated above and your less than stellar for sale thread isn't helping much either. Your photos aren't very good, too few photos (none of interior). Not a lot info on the C8.
I'd compare it against some of the other threads to see how you can add a little pizzazz to attract more attention.

Take a look at Corvette Worlds site, a very similar car as yours listed at $96900, and it has 8100 miles. A 2LT Z51 car will sell, good luck.

I listed mine for sale on the forum. No inquires either, just a wholesale buyer. I took his offer this was back in December 2021, I see the car is still listed for sale in Texas asking $10k more then I sold for.
So, now its listed for close to $25k MSRP, someone going to really want and need it to pay that price.
I think once these Z06's hit the market, going to be even more regular C8 for sale reducing the selling price, even more.

Color and config can make a big difference. If people are going to pay over MSRP they want something close to what they would order.

Eventually supply will catch up to demand and prices will soften but I am still seeing wait lists 12 months or more and that’s on a C8 Stingray. Might be a while yet especially if parts supply issues happen too.

Don't forget that Bowling Green is cranking out roughly 900 C8's every week...at some point we will hit the saturation point

I think resale value will depend on where you live. I live NW of Atlanta and yesterday was a banner day for me driving to my mother in law's house south of Atlanta. I actually saw three C8s out on the first sunny day we've had in a week. Three in an 80 mile drive and I drove through the middle of the city. That's not a lot for a city the size of Atlanta. Dealer lots are empty here. Everything is selling at or above MSRP unless you know someone at a General Manager level at a dealership.

I've sold my prior 5 Vettes on my own. Sure put on the Corvette Forum because it's free BUT you'll get low offers or as I did my 2017 Grand Sport- "Nice Car."

I have sold several using Autotrader. Sold the 2017 Grand Sport that way before my 2020 C8 arrived. In fact raised my price ~$2000 when Kerbeck sold the last new 2019 C7 standard shift they had in stock. Many folks wanted a standard shift and the C8 was no solution. Held to my price. Fellow and his wife flew from the Mid West and drove it home from SC!

Funny a week before he planned to come got calls from two folks (I usually respond to an inquiry with an email giving my phone number.) One offered to pay more than I was asking. Told both to call the day after he was to be here in case he did not show. They did and were disappointed!

My marketing suggestion is to pay for their top listing <~$100 that allows lots of pics etc. Also I would put in the headline, XX Miles selling because of health reasons so they know it's a legit sale.

I sold 2 weeks ago. No serious inquiries on the forum. I also sold to Texas Auto Value (wholesaler) at $16k over MSRP. It was a 2021 1LT Red Mist HTC with AR seats and 3600 miles. Not a common build but it still sold quickly after I dropped my price from $20k over sticker. carvana offered $4k less than TAV. My local dealer where I bought it offered $5k less than TAV.

Going into the summer and given the push back on the 2023 start date, You should have no problem getting that $90k-$93K. Listing on this forum you will also get lots of exposer. Facebook marketplace is excellent place to sell. You will get tons of Negative people on both platforms but just ignore them, You will be able to sell It very quickly. I have sold many Corvettes via Facebook market place and the facebook corvette pages for top dollar.

At some point, however I would not hold my breath waiting for it.
