Came upon a few C8’s today!

I don't see many front license plates.
Is this because many of the cars were registered somewhere other than Texas, or because the owners of the Texas-registered vehicles were willing to chance a $200 fine?

Heres the official video from the C8 carmeet in DFW. It really was awesome to see everyones C8 which were all unique in their own way. Mines the Sebring Orange with the vertical doors. 😎 enjoy!

I haven't had a front plate since 1980 and never a ticket or stopped

It's a small, very small risk. Over 40 years without a front plate in the Dallas area and not pulled over once

I wonder if other states have similarly low rates of enforcement.
LOL. Kalifornia it is.

Interesting. 42 years, 40 years, and 15 years of driving without an infraction? That's a pretty good sample length.Did any of you get stopped by law enforcement of parking enforcement for other reasons, and they just ignored the lack of a front plate? Or did you just have no interaction with law enforcement at all?

Most cops are human... they know the car looks really bad with a plate. I bet most of them would rather see it without a plate anyway

That looks like a 2500 with the Z71 package and if it is it's just as expensive as some of the Corvettes in that lot. I've got one and it cost me $8k less than my C8. I would park next to any of you and you would never have to worry about a ding in your paint.

This was the spring Meetup of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metro area C8 Enthusiasts. We love to move the Meetup around the Metro area so everyone can participate. We're a small group (~200 members) that all have a C8 and we are very community oriented and help each other with everything from aftermarket show and tell, to meet up for coffee to quarterly meetups. Next event is probably a country road drive and Meetup at a diner. It's very collaborative and supportive. This was our largest Meetup so far. Fall was 25 cars. Hoping for summer to be 40 cars.

The other time was by a city officer who sat on the same corner every morning during morning traffic & appeared to only stop vehicles without a front plate.
In my Vette, I drive by LEO nearly every time I take the car out & get a lot of thumbs up, but have yet to be stopped for anything.

I’ve lived in TX for 15 years now & have been stopped for no front plate 2x, and neither was in my Corvette. One was by highway patrol at the end of the month. I literally counted 8-10 officers with cars pulled over along a 2 mi stretch of interstate. There’s no way the officer who stopped me knew I didn’t have a front plate as I passed him when he had another vehicle pulled over. Before he got to my window he walked to the front of my vehicle, then came back and said he stopped me for no front plate. Didn’t even give me a warning, just told me to drive safe, hopped in his car & pulled over the next car that drove by.

I can't wait until I get my C8!
