I owned a Long Beach Red C7 Z06 and have seen Red Mist in person in different lighting on the C8. I think the Red Mist is a brighter color and looks better in cloudy or low light conditions than LBR, which goes more brick red/brownish in low light. Both look great in direct sunlight.
And I would say the exact opposite. Long Beach Red being darker is a prettier color.
Color is subjective.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... but Long Beach Red only available in 2020 and Red Mist 2021-2023. Looks like Red Mist is more popular. MY21 My22
Both colors are great. I prefer MRM. LBR is a bit too purple for me in certain light conditions. I still would have gotten LBR had I bought a 2020 though.
I see the Mazda Soul Red as nearly identical to Red Mist.
Not even close. They both look great in the sun but the RM kind of disappears on cloudy days and the MSR still pops. Corvette bias at work here. I have not owned a Mazda in 30+ years and my 09Z is JSB.

That is a key point. Like my 2014 C7 Crstal Red Metallic, my Long Beach Red color is very dependent on the sun and angle.
LBR really changes color a lot depending on lighting. My LBR looks dark burgundy in the garage, but in the sunlight, it is brighter and the metallic comes alive.
