My 2LT C8 coupe is just 3 months old (after an 18 month wait!). I run the rearview mirror in Rear Camera Mirror mode. On 3 occasions I have noticed the Rear Camera Mirror go black then come back on with a blue/green tint and then back to normal color. This has always happened in normal daylight. It occurs so quickly that it easily could be happening more often that I didn't notice.
Is this a problem or is this the "normal" process when the Rear Camera Mirror switches to/from automatic dimming?

Mine's done that several times over a year. I tried to notice exactly when this happened and it seems to me, and I may be wrong, that it happened usually while driving along and going under a fairly large sign that's across the road or a bridge and casts a shadow on to the highway. I think the camera tries to adjust to the difference in the light and if it were like a human eye, it blinks! Also every time this happened I was going at least 60 mph or higher. But it comes right back on so I suspect it's just a normal reaction and it was just at the moment I saw it happen.
My Rear view camera does the same thing. Took my 2021 to the dealer. Coax cable checked good so a new new camera was replaced. Two days later I saw the black flash, then to green, and then to a clear picture. It's intermentiant and it happens real fast. Happens one day but not the next. Just afraid it's going to stay black. Love this camera.
We've got the same problem; it'll just randomly go black and seems to restart itself. We haven't gotten it check out yet since it's pretty random and it'll go weeks between it happening and then it'll happen two times in a day or something. Will probably bring it up at the next oil change with our dealer, but for now, it's more just a random annoying thing every once in a while.

Thanks. Post back here when you take it in so we'll know what they say.

If you watch closely, I drive under an overhead sign with a shadow across the road. At about 4 seconds you can notice the light in the car dim momentarily from the shadow of the sign. At about 6 seconds the Rear Camera Mirror goes black and comes right back on.
I noticed it doing this 3 different times today but hadn't associated shadows with the event until I watched the video.
Today for the first time that I noticed I looked in the mirror and it was a bright blue and the bottom left of the mirror had a camera symbol. Came back to normal in about 5 seconds.

I have an appointment with the dealer this Friday. I'll share this video with them.
Hi there, just wondering if you've had any updates on this. That video is the exact same as what ours has done. We've also noticed it when there is changing light like shadows from overpasses or things like that. That might just be confirmation bias though, haha.
Mine has been doing that for as long as I have had the car. Almost a year now.
I will check to see if there is a connection with overhead signs, bridges etc.

Mine started doing that a month ago. Same blue screen, camera ICON upper left with error triangle. Pic lower right or center saying flip to “real mirror.” Was intermittent. Brought to dealer, they installed new mirror. No help still intermittent.
Went back to dealer Wednesday. They are ordering new camera. Hope that does it. Sometimes works for 30 minutes that back to blue with error.

Mine doesn't fail in that manner. I don't get the blue screen with the camera icon and an error.
