Trying to get Z51 spoiler on Stingray
I have an order in for a C8. I Don’t like the base spoiler or the high rise. I want to get the Z51 spoiler but it can’t be ordered separately only with the Z5 package for $6000 that I don’t want. I asked the Dealer if he could order spoiler from their parts dept and install on the car when I comes in. He doesn’t want to do it. I know there’s allot of after market Z51 OEM spoilers around but I preferably want the dealer to get it and install it so I’m covered under all warranties. Has anyone found a dealer that would do this? any suggestions. BTW I talked to their parts department and they said there are so many types of spoilers he couldn’t find the one I wanted with carbon flash..witch is hard to believe. Since the dealership doesn’t want to do it I’m not pressing their parts department for the part num.

If the dealership does not want to do the install, certainly don’t let them do it. Find a dealership that will install the spoiler or find a top quality independent body shop that will do the work. If you have the template, it should not be all that difficult for them to install the spoiler.

As stated above. They are always for sale on the forum and eBay….just keep looking for the color you want..
I have a 2023 HTC and opted for the new low spoiler painted carbon flash.
If you find one I’m sure a reputable local body shop can paint it and install it for you.
‘Sometimes you can find the template on the forum.
I wouldn’t worry about voiding any warranty by installing a factory spoiler..
Good luck with your quest..

Can understand dealer's reluctance. In fact, when my great Dealer Service Manager thought they had to remove the bumper to replace my failed motorized hatch pull down assembly (that GM procedure specified) he said if that is the case, he would send it to the body shop. His comment was although their great Corvette Tech could, would take too long as it would be his first!
(Frankly would have been the 1st for the body shop but those techs don't get paid as much! And they may not be as OCD as the Corvette Tech who is a perfectionist! Fortunately, the Corvette Tech found a way to replace the failed parts without removing the rear bumper!)

I know someone who had it done at Coughlin Chevrolet, Pataskala, Ohio.

Order the spoiler yourself from an online parts dealer & either install it yourself or find a dealer/bodyshop that will install it for you. Not sure what warranties you're worried about - it's a plastic spoiler.

It’s actually not a very difficult install to do yourself. Key part is getting the template to drill the holes in the rear cover. The rear cover comes off rather easily.

Thanks for the info. There seems to be a discrepancy in the replies. Does anybody know if the bumper Hast to be taken off to replace the spoiler. if that’s true don’t think I want to go through that. It might create problems and having it done on a brand new car.

Yes it does

Yes the rear bumper does have to come off. My car is to be built at the end of Jan. I am having my dealer install a high wing instead of the Z-51 which is Carbon Flash. I also have the template for the holes. If you're interested, PM me and can talk.

....Ask me how I know?
I would say that unless one has done this themselves they should not comment on how hard it is and how panels can get misaligned. It's all BS. It takes less than 2 hours and is pretty easy and straight forward.

I just had my trusted body shop swap my factory Z51 spoiler for the high wing. Knowing what I know now, if I was doing it all over again and knew I wanted the high wing, I would order the car without the wing and then have it added later. It turns out that drilling the holes is far less invasive than removing the ills Z51 spoiler. The dimensions of the four “bases” of the Z51 and high wing spoilers - while they are compatible and use the same holes, the bases are different sizes. The Z51 outside bases are more than an inch longer overall than the high wing outside bases. That means that whatever was under that factory base around the edges becomes exposed when you swap the wings. They clamp them down pretty tight at the factory so it’s not unusual to see a small outline indentation what the old wing was.

There is no other way to install the rear spoiler than to remove the rear cover. Don’t let that discourage you. It really is very simple to remove and replace. I have removed and replaced 3 of them since March 2022. Once the cover is removed from the car both tail lights and the 3rd brake light also must be removed from the cover. Again, very simple.

Don't be afraid, the dealers do this all the time. Just check with them for the charge.
