Any point in having myChevorlet app if I don’t have Onstar ?
To clarify: the question is if there is any functionality left in the app without an active onstar membership.

Remote start from phone, lock/unlock from phone, data points (mileage, tire pressures, oil life).

Worth the $100/year to me. Might not be too others.

I really dont use that app much, but its on my iPhone. I just checked, and I can access my diagnostic report, service history, warranty tracker, preferred dealer from that app. But, I can also access it by logging in to the web site from my lap top. I never used any of the other features if I ever had them (mine is a 2021). Even without an OnStar subscription (and I do not have one), you still have what is called OnStar Connected Access which is included with price of the car. It is that connection that provides the diagnostic reports. The is not the same as the three year service that now is mandatory for 300 dollar.

The "remote access" plan is about that if you negotiate. But they don't advertise that plan much. Normally $150 a year, but if you ask they'll generally come down. They offered it to me for $105 a year. And they'll try like heck to sign you up for a more expensive one.

Can you remote start with the key fob?

Of course. Key fob functions do not rely on OnStar and are not affected by OnStar subscriptions or lack thereof.

Yes, the 100 I was referring to was the connected App, not OnStar. You can start with Fob without app.

It's worth it to me to be able to lock if I can't remember whether I left it locked or not, and I like to start for a couple minutes before I drive it.

I called today after reading this topic and said that while I enjoy having the remote access for the 1 or 2 times a month I use it, it's not worth $15.98 a month to me. After asking to cancel, they offered a ~$8/month price point for it and that seemed a little more worth it to me. Here's the number: 1-888-466-7827. Took less than 10 minutes.

I do like being able to remotely lock the car from a restaurant/office/etc. Saves me a trip out to the car. I'm expecting to use the app to remote start the car in TX summers when I'm further away than the fob will reach so that the car is nice and cool when I get out there.

I think I'll use the "I just saved $100" at dinner tonight. Always helps.

Yes. I don’t have that feature turned on yet. On my other cars I have it where I touch the door to lock it. Probably should try the auto locking on the C8.

$100 a year doesn't get you the same plan you're paying for now. All the Remote Access plan does is let you lock and unlock the car from your phone, remote start it from your phone, check tire pressure, fuel level, and a couple of other things, and see where your car is on a map. You don't get crash reporting, remote disabling, or any of the other OnStar features.

I just always hit the lock button on the inside of the door before I climb out of the car.
