Default Weird paint issue

Hey guys I've had the Vette two months and I've come across a spot with some weird spots. I've tried to rub them out but they don't come out. Do you think I should bring this up with the dealer, or is there a way to buff this out? Thanks.

I would take to a professional detailer for their opinion before I took any other action. They are masters at their craft and will know exactly what you should do

When you say you attempted to rub them out, I assume you used something such as Meguiar's Scratch X or another mild compound?

That can leave scratches in the clearcoat if done improperly

Meguiar's Scratch X is pretty much fool proof....It won't leave scratches in the clearcoat and aside from removing fine swirls and scratches it will also remove any surface contamination and blemishes...

tadda's right, unless you do something crazy Meguiar's Scratch X isn't going to do any harm. You may want to try this route first.
If doesn't resolve the issue I'd take it to your dealer first to at least make them aware of the issue, then decide whether you let them fix it or reach out to your local Corvette club for recommendations on a good detailer-paint corrector in your area.
Good luck!

it is hard to tell from the photos but I has a similar issue years ago. First if you don’t know what your doing don’t do anything. If it is not under the clear coat any decent detailer can fix it either by buffing it or use a cutting pad and some fine polish I would not let a dealer do it since most of them do not have people skilled at this. If the detailer tells you it is under the clear coat (which is doubtful if you did no see them when you picked up the car) then get the dealer involved since that would mean something more costly is needed to fix it.

That’s an an issue at all. Looks like the circles some folks experience. The Meguiar's Scratch X will do just fine.

Did you use a plastic cover recently? If you did that will not buff out.

I would try the least aggressive approach first. How about something like Meguiar's cleaner/wax? Won't do any harm whatsoever, and may be all you need.

I got something like this on my M5. I caused it. I used bug/tree sap remover. It faded the clearcoat like that.

I agree, both are very good products that will not harm your C8s finish and one works about the same as the other. The Scratch X will most likely be easier to find if you don't have either.

Try a clay bar lubricated with your favorite detailer. I use Griot's synthetic clay lubricated with Griot's Speed Shine. It's not a polish. But it will remove wax and other surface impurities and leave the surface very very smooth. I find that it "corrects" more issues then I would have expected although it is technically not "paint correction". If that doesn't work, then yes a mild polish is probably the next step. But as others advised, on a brand new car, it might be best to take it to a dealer that has good body shop. They are experts in that area.

Good recommendations and I too would try something like the Scratch X and see how it does.

I have and use the below as well but it's a different Meguiar's product than I was referencing above.

The clear coat is porous. This happened to mine. If you put the car in the sun it will go away, but humidity and washing it will make it come back and it will damage the color coat if you don't fix it.

Take it to the dealer and they will sand it and respray the clear coat. You will get an upgrade to a life time paint warranty as well. (At least at my dealer I did anyway.)
