Default All Corvette dealers are not equal or should I say competent.

I put down a refundable deposit, I have the receipt, at one of the recommended dealers from this sight for a Corvette about 1 year ago. I no longer needed to place an order with this dealer. I used their web site and messaged them to cancel my order and refund my deposit please. I sent my salesman an email also and he said he would pass it on to the correct department. No response. I figured 2 request was sufficient. A little nudge from the BBB would probably do the thing. (I had done a search and found others also had to nudge this dealer to get their deposit back.) I filed with the BBB. I waited 30 days. No response from BBB or the dealer. Next step. File in small claims court. I filed. Got this phone call yesterday from a lady who told me how I was doing everything wrong. I needed to be smart enough to contact her, the head of sales. She went on to then tell me that she just came from a 20 minute meeting with their IT department as to why their web site message system was eating or deleting incoming messages like mine. Oh, she could talk and talk. I just let her run, no reasoning with these kind I have learned. Once she was about talked out I asked her why her dealership never responded to the BBB inquirer they were sent by the BBB. (I took their business name and address right off my deposit receipt.) Crickets. Life. Hmmmmm. She is so far out of the loop. Watch. Next they are going to offer me my refund, but will not want to pay for any of the small claims court cost I have incurred.

Good luck getting your deposit back, but perhaps try not to be so escalatory in the future.
Two attempts (dealer website and email to salesman) and then you file with the BBB and then small claims court? You've got to be kidding. CaptainFester nailed it - you sound like a nightmare to deal with.

That's a totally self-inflicted injury. I wouldn't pay for your small claims court costs either. I would blacklist you at the dealership and any other dealerships under the same owner..

One of the reasons I always recommend MacMulkin and Criswell.

Did i miss the name of the dealership in your post ? If this forum doesn't allow that , you can drop some hints

Sorry to hear your plight; but, it's hardly a revelation or news flash that many dealers are sc*mb*gs or worse.

Bruh you went to small claims court after one or two ignored messages from the dealer??

Not excusing the dealership here.

I would have gone to the dealership and had an adult conversation with the manager.

Sadly, a story as old as time...And attempting to resolve this over emails and phone calls is never a good option in this case...I would have gone to the Dealership and spoke with the GM in person...

Anyways, MacMulkin is ALWAYS the correct choice!

If it's one of the recommended forum dealers and he is in Nebraska he can hardly just walk in. But a phone call to the dealership takes only a few minutes and there is no reason NOT to ask for the sales manager if you are getting nowhere with their sales team. Can't imagine going through the trouble of filing a BBB complaint and then a small claims court case (paying fees to boot) vs. just asking for the sales manager or dealership manager to get the refund processed.

So, you sent an e-mail and filed a complaint? Why didn't you call them before going through all that? Not saying they're in the right here, but your post reads like you just enjoy conflict.

This. Lot of work you did when a visit to the dealership may have solved the problem.

1 I contacted them twice.
2 I got a reply from salesman he would pass alone my request to the proper department
3 I get no reply or refund.
4 I filled out a BBB form. Easy as pie on the lap top. Any GOOD business does not ignore a BBB complaint by a customer. They ignored it.
I waited 30 or more days for the dealer to respond to the BBB filing, as recommended by BBB.
5 I figure if they are ignoring the BBB I need to file with Small Claims Court.

I know, I am stupid as a post.

P.S. I did a search before the filing with the BBB and Small Claims Court and found others also had trouble getting their deposit back. They also needed to take actions beyond phone calls and emails.

No, with phone calls you have no written record that the communication has taken place or what was said. With emails you have the written word that I have sent and what they have sent back.

True, but the e-mails you sent are not guaranteed to arrive...so many possibilities there - you could have at least made a phone call as your final attempt. Sorry, but you are responsible for this situation almost as much as they are.
