Who sells one? I used a Blend Mount (I think that was the name of it) on my c5 for my Escort 850. I don't see where they make one for a c8. Anybody have an answer? Not that I would ever go fast or anything like that.

I bought one and returned it, detector was down too low for me but I’m 6-2.
i used the stock mount and tuck it up as high as possible.
Looks like you’re running an escort with the magmount? That mount lowers the detector a good inch or more. I run a V1 GEN2 and it tucks up nice behind the mirror. The blendmount for the C8 is definitely better than previous years.

I had it up behind the mirror but access was limited to hit buttons

I don't like the detector hanging down and blocking any vision.
These are my two methods. First used on my two C7s for 7 years and C8 for two years. Used the Blendmout wire kit.
The second used about a year on my C8. Removed when I sold it a week ago and will install on my E-Ray at 3000. Will take just a few minutes Removed from my C8 just sold and will install on my E-Ray. Wires hidden until they come out close to windshield. 3M Dual Lock much stronger than Velcro.
I don't like how mounting a radar detector below the mirror blocks your vision so I mounted mine above the infotainment screen. I made my own mount but there are universal mounts available: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-detector.html
Since I started using Waze I have completely stopped using a radar detector.
Waze works good in an urban area (unless you're the first one) but not in rural areas. I don't think I've seen one Waze alert where I live but I've had my RD notify me about real threats numerous times.

Nice job on your mount!
I was lazy and bought one off of Amazon that mounts behind the infotainment screen. I run the power cord to the 12V outlet by the glove box. It takes just a few seconds to mount it, or remove all traces of it. I like it at/near eye level and both the front and rear RD receivers have an unobstructed "view" through glass. I also run Waze. I think the RD + Waze compliment each other nicely. YMMV.
Mirror Tap, visor clip. easy cheap.. out of sight (from outside the car.)

Yep used a sun visor clip and tapped the passenger visor light for power in my 1988, 1993 and C6 Vettes. It was a smaller Escort. But time for a new detector when I got my early 2014 C7. Bought one of the 1st Escort Passport Max detectors. It is heavy and not only no visor clip available it's too big and heavy.
The advantage for me with that detector is I ONLY drive locally. I now have ~10 years of recorded GPS locations where I have seen and marked a radar trap. Also have school zones and where there are sneaky spots that go from the typical rural 55 mph limit to 35 marked as some are hard to see from a distance. A nice "young ladies voice" comes up before the marked spot and says "speed trap!"

Apparently you don't own one or have used one. When alone on a road you still should watch you speed limit as yes, once the trigger it is too late. Where it is very effective is on the road with other traffic present, which is most travel. I will say that on club trips I saved a few members many times when my detector banged and I radioed to them. The bought one shortly there after. Waze is good, but no better than the days of CB where another driver must report the police action. If you are first, you lose. Common sense can't be thrown out the window with any method and I have had one for years because the few times I got a ticket I was just daydreaming and my speed crept up. It just alerts you. If you want to blast 100mph+ you will still get a ticket one day with Waze, a detector or any method.
BTW I use the Blendmount with Escort Max MKIi. Best mount I have found...not cheap. i am not sure how some say it blocks vision but say on top of Info screen doesnt block view. I have used even super suction mounts and one day find the detector had fallen. I have tried high end two face tape on bracket or snap lock, but always vibrates or chatters which drives me nuts.

With laser that is true but not with radar. If the LEO has his radar continuously on (which many do in my area) then the RD goes off before he has a strong enough signal reflected back to his unit. If he is using instant-on radar then you usually see your RD going on and off as he is shooting other cars. If no one is around you then you may be the first to get hit with instant-on but that usually isn't the case.
I have only been banged with laser once in past 10 years....very few cops have them. Over my driving life RDs have saved me too many times to count. Most cops drive with them on most of the time and the directional detectors are very good. I can say this with a lot of confidence. If you don't have one, you are living on borrowed time until the next ticket, unless you keep it to just 5mph over.
