You NEVER make a lane change based on information from your mirrors. When your mirrors "don't say no", you do a full head swivel to verify. Very easy, at least in the HTC.

I have a HTC, and while I like my side mirrors and have no problem driving with them, I've never been able to see a thing with a "full head swivel". That's the reason so many complain about blind spots - you have to depend on the mirrors.

I am real happy with the Paragon Mirrors I got the Blue but would do Chrome if I had to do it over again. I also did not splice into the wiring to setup the turn arrows so it made the install a little easier.

Also highly recommend the Paragon parabolic mirrors ! Adjusted properly elimimates blind spot completely! Takes less than 1/2 day to relearn distance perspective ( vehicles are closer than they appear)

I also recommend the Paragon wide view mirrors. I also got the sequential LED mirror caps and installed them both at the same time with ease.

I got the sandyeggo designs one for Christmas but haven't put it on yet.

Just so you know there's an alternative.. No experience with either one .. yet.. This one seems easier to install, but harder to uninstall.

I purchased and installed this a few months ago and it's a game changer - instantly made me more comfortable driving and I adjusted to it very quickly.

Super easy install without having to swap out the mirror.

I installed the driver side Sandyeggo mirror and like it very much on my 2LT. It was a 5 to 10-minute install.
See this thread specific to the Sandyeggo discussion for more information on this solution: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1607109624

What a coincidence! I just purchased these Sandyeggo convex mirrors today since they were on SALE. I also got their seat belt stays.

I put the sandyeggo designs mirrors on each side. NO blind spots at all any more. Makes driving in conjunction with the rear camera mirror much easier and less stressful.

Do the full head swivel and rear end the guy in front of you because you are looking backyard. No me, I use the mirrors and they have worked for me for years.

If you adjust the rear view mirror camera, you can see a very wide and clear view. Then the side mirrors become much less important.
That's my solution. I had to retrain my thinking to focus on the camera view and not expect too much from the side mirrors.

Ive tried to use the camera rear view mirror and it gets me kind of dizzy. My eyes take a few seconds to adjust to the view before I try to actually use it while driving. I also feel that I loose what little depth of field that I get from the actual mirror and for some reason judging the distance of things in the camera mirror seems difficult for me. So, needless to say, I never use it. For me, it's just another gadget along with the many of them on the C8.

The Paragon video makes it look easy to install - and the price is reasonable.

"Survivorship Bias" at work. If you rear end someone in the 3/4 of a second it takes you to execute a best practice, you were following too close!

I know NO ONE will change and NO ONE will admit they are wrong. Logic will not persuade someone who did not use logic to arrive at their opinion

If you adjust your mirrors correctly, there is no blind spot. And contrary to the post above, why people haven't learned to do the "full head swivel" is because you're not supposed to take your eyes off what is in front of you.

But people still refuse to adjust their mirrors correctly, add goofy extra mirrors, and look over their shoulder like they were taught in the '50s.

"Many new drivers find shoulder checking difficult for a couple of reasons."

It is your right to be wrong. I get it... many of you have not crashed for doing it wrong, yet.

But imagine if you promote "doing it wrong" and it leads someone to crash. Just quietly do it wrong and let others make their own decision.

I could post 100 if I were not tired. I put a solid fifteen minutes search for a professional who advocates doing it incorrectly. Nothing.

I understand "I do a gram of coke a day, I'm fine" which is like "I just trust the mirrors, I'm fine". Do what you want. Don't corrupt someone else. Take the L.

Crash investigation 101 "Did you see the motorcyclist you turned into? Did you even LOOK???" "Uh officer... I looked at my mirrors, that counts? Is he going to be OK????" What a terrible moment that would be, just to be internet smart.

I encourage you to try it for a while and see if your brain will start making adjustments for the camera mirror. Most can and begin to really like it, especially the wide-angle aspects. Two adjustments you might try to make the viewing easier:

1) With the mirror set to "normal mirror" view, adjust it so you are looking into your own eyes. Set it back to camera view and see it that helps.
2) Adjust the mirror down and to the left as far as it will turn. That gives me the best view with mine.

It took me a few weeks of continuous use before I got used to it, then one day I realized I'd been using the camera mirror with no problems.
