Default $500 Factory Rebate on new C8

I have yet to see this discussed anywhere. A local Chevy dealer told me that you can get a $500 rebate off a new GM, including the C8 by signing up for the GM Rewards Credit Card. In addition, you can get an initial zero percent financing for 12 months on a credit card purchases. You could conceivably put some or all of your down payment at zero %, and get the $500 off the price as well.

I believe the dealer needs to invite you with a special link, and of course, you need to qualify for the credit card. Anyone hear of this before?

Must be super secret. MacMulkin never mentioned anything. The only rebate/rewards I can find for the C8 is the “Peak Performance, Powerful Rewards”: https://www.chevrolet.com/performance-parts/offers

Haven't heard of this promotion, but then again I already have a GM rewards card. If it is true, good deal for prospective buyers.

Most dealers will not take credit cards for any car purchases.

Friend is a GM with a Toyota store. They take a CC up to $3000. Essentially lets a customer put a down payment or lease due at signing on a card. When we bought a CX5 recently, Mazda dealer took MasterCard for $2500. Point is points. I'd wonder if this GM card has an annual fee? If so, a bad deal day one.

I bet theyre considering the 20k point you could get as that "bonus".

There is no fee for the credit card. Dealers typically max a down payment for a vehicle at $3000.

When I went to pay for my C8 back in 2021, my dealer offered to let me pay for the entire car on a credit card if I wanted. That caught me totally off guard as I didn't have that much credit on my cards. I did pay over $50,000 that way. Then paid off the credit cards the next day. They didn't charge any extra fees for that option either. Next time I buy from this dealer, I'll have my credit limit raised before buying.

Many dealers in Florida accept credit cards usually a $5K maximum as deposits or as a partial down payments if financing, and higher amounts if cars are paid in full plus a 2-3% additional fee on the amount of the credit card transaction.

If the dealer was willing to put $50,000 on a credit card, then wouldn't he have been willing to give you $1500 off? Would the credit card fees still be 3% on a $50,000 purchase or does the 3% fee get adjusted in some way for large purchases?

There is no limit on how many points you can use towards a new C8 with the GM card and there is no yearly fee. When you buy a C8 using the card you will get about $200-$300 in points to use for future purchases.

Costco members are also eligible for a $1000 discount on a new GM vehicle.

Yes there is a $500 rebate for GM Rewards Card Sign Up and Spend Offer. Program #24-40CB-001.
You can also use the GM Card redemption program if you have a GM Card.

The Costco Program is currently not active and the Corvettes were not part of this program.

Costco is 9nly certain vehicles, of which I doubt Corvette Is one of them. I will say I got $750 from Costco on my pickup. It costs the dealer nothing and is taken after best deal, so it is very good.
