Default Disappointment at Delivery

Went to pick up my '24 HTC Friday at dealership. Car is awesome, perfect. EXCEPT: Frunk will not close or open. Salesman operated it few times, no issue. Than he tried to open on last time and it would not close or open. Four techs pulling on inside latch, pushing up and down simultaneously. Young man on laptop trying to decipher codes. Next week I hope. Damn!!
Anyone seen this before?? Can't drive it, error message on screen and loud alarm.

I'm sure they thought of this, but there is a reset switch under the driver headlight in the front grill.

The battery is in the frunk....which doesn't open. (Although I'm sure there is another way to disconnect power to ECU/BCM at least, but not as easily).

Sorry to hear OP, how terrible to go get the car and not get it home. Soon enough, though...

So is it like the rear deck lid on later models that require drilling a hole to get it opened? I’m glad the 23’s are mechanical.

The battery is in the front (frunk) under plastic black panel. Also, there is a way to open trunk without drilling a hole via the wheel well, according to Tadge.

What about the manual release cable under the dash by the foot pedals?

EDIT: I now see you said you were working with the inside latch.

I’ve had a few instances where I got my frunk stuck on my ‘24 just from not closing it correctly…I was one of the first ‘24’s that came in. It’s fine now that I know how to work it properly, but try the manual release and then open and close it. I’ve never had to use the manual release because usually re-opening it with the remote would get the latch to release.

…I’ve found the best way to close it is to sort of give it a slight shove while dropping it…

…it does NOT close the same as the trunk. Soft close feature is different and a lot of dealers haven’t realized this yet if they haven’t delivered a lot of ‘24 C8’s…

Congratulations on getting your new C8. Hopefully it’s something simple with the frunk and it’s figured out quickly!

Not a great start to your C8 ownership experience. Hope your dealer can get it figured out, it does not involve a complicated repair and you get to enjoy your new car.

That's not a reset switch, it's another switch to open the frunk. Does the same thing the switch in the drivers door does.

This is not what we like to hear, what if there were a child trapped inside.

There is a cord under the dash by the floor. Pull it to manually release the latch for the frunk.

So much bull crap !! At Miami airport today …. Headed home after an 11 day trip and the frunk tool 4 times to pull closed. I locked the car and then unlocked it and that made it work. Long trip … wasn’t happy.
put aside that frunk latch system sucks. Click and noise and you don’t know if it’s going to work until you see it pull the frunk down
